  1. It was a super hot day today, signs of what summer is going to be like I think. I gave my guys out there two showers which they loved and had a fan on for the families inside.
  2. aww looks like love. The purple check patches are super cute.
  3. aww Daz they look great. The two opaline girls have such long wings!. Your spangle seems to have dark markings which would rule out DF. The pieds look fantastic. Darel looks just like her ma. If she is a she I will shorten her name to Elle. Can you tell us what makes you think brain tumour? Lovey - Yes and a white face not yellowface which would give the mix of colours like an Opal. If you can think of a cute name I'll change it but he is on the sale list.
  4. aww to cute little girls there Karen The Red Rump is a cutey too.

  7. okay a day late but pictures once again. Don't mind the faces they are just learning to eat carrot and other good things. Also take no mind of the words on the box, it was the only one I could find :(Laughing out loud): Cupid, Yellowface Opaline, Female: Tingle, yellowface Normal, Female: Both together: Storm, Cobalt Normal, Possible male: Darel, Yellowface Normal, Female I think: Opal, Coablt Normal, male I think: Libra, cablt normal, female I think: Czar, sky blue dominant pied, male: Minka, sky blue dominant pied, possable male:
  8. Very cute I like the yellow bubs too, I was wondering if some green was showing in the wings.
  9. I'm clueless as well I'm sure we will all smack our heads when we get the answer.
  10. The last two pictures up there Karen are of one of your great grandchild Kazza
  11. Aww :ausb:
  12. It's great that you have one tame bird, if you can keep working iwth Jewel and is friendly nature to humans it can rub off to the other (like when she willinging sat on your arm) Just use some millet held in your hand in the cage to start with or another treat they LOVE. This will take a bit of time with two birds but it can happen. Don't panic if you need to hold her just make sure you are gentle about it. If she gets out again try to use Jewel as a helper on your hand to get her back on then both in the cage together.

And that is the reason for letting eggs go over the due date. Surpirses can happen :ausb: Glad they are all doing well. My hens will dash back into the box and huddle the others under her but always welcome the one I've got back.
  14. I was thinking of just shortening it to Kaz but I like Czar
  15. Things are going well with all. I will try for pictures tommorrow. Tingle and Cupid both try the fresh food, millet and normal seeds and ar out of the nest for most of the day but hang out on the bottom of the cage rather than the branchs although both can balance. Storm spend a bit of time out day (about half the day) and had a play with the sprouts. Darel had ventured out once and climbed straight up to the branch begging for food, lost his balance and was hanging upside down :(Laughing out loud): He got himself back up which I thought was great. But hasn't been out again. Kazza was trying to get out this morning but couldn't work out how to get the second foot out of the box to balance on the perch there. Not sure how he ended out but was out this afternoon nibbling at the fresh food dish and is now sitting again on his low perch. Oh and Kaz you need to learn some manners it's not nice to bite! Opal and Libra are both going to be whiteface cobalts (sky violets) like Storm.
  16. Very cute pictures Kirby Tweetie and Tingle look very much alike (apart from the yellowface) but the blue is the same.

Karen I'll be watching to see if these turn out correct or not

Toss a coin and you have a 50% chance of getting it right. Guess the gender of babies needs to wait until they are a least 4 to 4 and half weeks. 6 weeks is normally when it's easier to tell. Those are great close up pictures.
  19. not with the strength of colour on the wings. I found the answer and we where right. The cinnamon gene with the Olive gene or the grey-green gene gives the body a mustard colouring to it. Since the bird has more signs for a Olive rather than grey-green eg, no grey parent, bluish tail. I would say Olive cinnamon.

Some times a hen will not accept a male no matter how long you leave them together but once given a different partner will start to breed fromday one. Although it is rare not all budgies will breed together. We also need a bit of infomation about your birds such as: Age of both of them how long they have been together? do they have a nest box yet? Are they bonded at all (feeding, singing) ? Are they both in codition to breed? (hen has brown cere, male as dark blue cere)
  21. I think we all agree that the colour is mustard and not matching to either Olive or Grey green. I know I have read about mustard in budgies before I'm going to have to hunt out my book again and read through it. I'm sure it's in that where I read it.
  22. :hap: Just trying not to hurt your feeling before :rip: All is good today Cupid and Tingle are still out and about and i got to watch them nibble at the fresh food this morning and Cupid is right now copying dad and picking at the seed. Kazza was out again with afternoon and I was told he has been out a while, then the silly one climbed first to by shoulder than around to the middle of my neck and then half way onto my head burying into my hair
  23. agree with others :hap: Lucky you to have caught her.
  24. sorry for the wait I was thinking of a grey-green cinnamon, so that is why I asked about the tail. Didn't think of Clearbody before becuase of the wings like Luso said. I didn't think Opaline was on the board before but the new pictures make me think otherwise. so Possible Opaline Cinnamon Grey Green. I'm still not sure since grey is normally a dominant gene (meaning either mum or dad should show it.)
  25. It is. Cupid and Tingle have been testing out the fresh food themselves, tingle has carrot stains around her beak in the picture. Just found Kazza ( who is starting to look like a male now!) out of the box again (9 pm) so I poped him/her back in.
