Help! My Budgie Keeps Laying Eggs!
She will not worry or stress over the loss of the eggs, she will continue to lay while the box is there. Just latly I had a single mother bird with fostered babies lay eggs again with no contact to a partner for two months.

Baby Colors Help
Yes shell your right, the dad will past the opaline gene to the girls and they will be opaline, while the males will carry the gene (split) just like they will carry the ino gene.

What Have I Just Bought?
If they are hens, then there really isn't an issue they would either be coming out or in to breeding condition. But with males it can he hormone inbalance or worse - cancer! This is why I stated a vet trip might be a safe plan. If you got them from a pet store they normaly have a 'healthy' animal gap that mean you can recover money from health issues not caused by something you did ( ie broken wing from moving from box to cage) I feel bad bringing that up but some are able to return ill animals, but they are still so cute I would end up just caring for them I believe I've seen other birds with cere like this on this site, none of late so it does happen to others

What Can I Do

What Have I Just Bought?
The first is a dominant pied. The eye has a ring in it. As to the gender...well I'm not sure both seem to have a mix of both blue and brown. For the the blue looks too dark for it to match a hen out of condition and males shouldn't have any brown full stop. I would cosider getting them both seen by an avain vet.

Breeding Time
yes they are still called throat spots :ausb: Spangles these days have a line just like the wings. When the Variety first showed up it was a clear circle (kinda like you drew on the picture.)

Baby Mutation?
wow he does have a big head spot :ausb: He is a cutie. I remember one of the parents having a head spot in another thread Nyos. Does he have any other pied markings on the body or just the spot?

I could be wrong in my remembering here, but I don't think the plum colour has to show up while they are bubs. Stunning pictures yet again karen :budgiedance:

New Genetic Lesson
:(Laughing out loud): well.... that picture and many others from that sight are very hard to tell. What lovely stated is right and normally the way to tell them. If I didn't know where this picture came from even I would be wondering wether fallow or ino. But for this comp all I really wanted was a red eyed bird.

More Budgie Pictures
Titan's sister ( does she have a name) looks to be opaline which can explain why he seems to have a lot of thriat spots. Great pictures Karen :hap: *stares at Zuess plotting ways to steal him* I knew I should have tried Lin's trick with the hair that day

New Avairy
OHH good luck Daz You don't have the move the stones and pebbles??

What Am I?
**copied from other thread** He is a yellow face type 2 for sure. it would help to get a picture of his back to tell more. At first glance I thought spangle then a possible dilute. But the throat spots look at full strengh which ( i think) would rule out that idea and the wing feathers just above the flight feathers don't look spangle. Any one else wondering about Texas Clearbody?

What Do You Think Of My New Budgies?
WOW I can see why you fell for the male okay I found your other post and adding relpy there.

What Is My Colour
I don't see any colouring on the wings or around the head. Spangle get what can look like the 'v' shape that opaline have becuase the markings of the wings are pale.

New Genetic Lesson
:(Laughing out loud): okay then, I was waiting to give others a guess. Answers: 1. fallow - this is a different gene to cinnamon although it gives brown markings. The red eyes is the key to telling it apart. 2. Grey-green Normal - the wings and tail are black 3. CINNAMON - (congratuations to all that picked this one) 4. Clearwing - the wings are a pale gray not brown 5. CINNAMON - This one was not as pale as the other and hard to spot so well done to all. She is also opaline which is where the body colour is the same one the wings.

Baby Mutation?
All I can see at the moment is a blue spangle. Are there white feathers showing on the top of the head? (with no black)
-
Spangles?
You will only get greywings if Duke is carrying the gene ( it is recessive) He can only give a spangle gene so all the bubs will be single factor spangles.
