Thanks KAZ-Jimmy. Chomper is dead so they have no father... The mother must be feeding them unless they are feeding themselves.

Most of the babies are starting to look like males now. Very bright pink ceres. When they were young their ceres had white rings but now they are all bright pink with no other colours.

Hi As of today all the babies have come out of the box on their own. They are eating corn kernels as we speak. The eldest baby is 33 days old and the youngest baby is 29 days old. Should I put them back in the nest box to be sure or are they fine on the ground? Their is an upside down ice cream container for them to hide in and their is plenty of seed, millet, corn, calciumbell, water on the ground. I do not want to wake up tomorow and find them all dead because they cannot eat yet.. What would you do? Thanks/

Hi Thankyou elly. If it cannot be cured, how long until it takes over his body and kills him? Can abudgie live a full healthy life with a tumour? Is a tumour contagous to other birds?

Male Budgies Cere Going Brown...
Hi I have a budgie called bluey, he is a male that is 5 years old in 1 month. He recently had a respitory problem that is now fixed completley. He is missing flight feathers and I do not know why, He finds it hard to fly. His cere is turning brown, 80% of his cere is brown now. He was in an avairy with 7 males and 2 females. I have put him in a cage until I know what is wrong with him. What should I do? Whats wrong with him? I am giving him lots of vitamins minerals and calcium. He gets eggfood daily and millet aswell. Occasionally sunflower seeds. ThANKS

My Bush Budgies Breeding
If you wash your hands thouroughly you can move the egg into a container but it is best to not move them. If you have shavings in your nest box the concave is not needed.

Last Group Of Babies Died, What To Do With New Babies?
To fix the post problem im sure you can go to the top of this thread and click on the options tab underneath the add reply button. Then somthing will pop up and go down to where it says display modes: then click switch to standard. It would be best if you did not smoke near the birds but I'm not 100% sure it does harm to them, keep in mind budgies are very small so their lungs are also very small. Trill is one of the best supermarket brands you can get so you can keep using that if you want.

Last Group Of Babies Died, What To Do With New Babies?
Do you feed vegetables and soft food? Their is not much room in the cage for 4 breeding budgies but I could be wrong. Are all budgies over 1 year old? That cage would be more suitable for one breeding pair, you could move thepair who are not breeding so the other pair can get on with it. Do you know that the babies were being fed properly? did you check their crops?

Last Group Of Babies Died, What To Do With New Babies?
Hi Once you post a picture of your setup we will have more idea of what could be the problem. Are both nest boxes the same height? Same size? If the hen with babies has the best nest box and the other hen wants to lay, she could kill the babies and empty the nest for herself. This happens alot in colony breeding, it happened to me quite a few times.

Last Group Of Babies Died, What To Do With New Babies?
If you are colony breeding it could be the other female who is attacking your babies and killing them. Add another 2 nest boxes because you need 2 nest box for each hen. Do you see the other hen going in and out of the nest box? Do you have just budgies in the aviary or are your peachfaces in their as well? What do the babies look like when you find them dead? White? Are they bleeding? If all the different species are in the same aviary it could be the peachfaces hurting your babies because peachface and budgie should not be mixed.

Breeding Pairs
Aslong as you can be sure they are not related it is fine to get them from the same place. If you plan to breed them straight away make sure they are over a year old. Do not forget to quarantine them away from your other birds. If you want a green budgie get 2 green's if you want a blue get 2 blue birds.

Thank you very much KAZ-JImmy I have read that baby dark green babies always have blue suffusion but it dies away as they age. Is this true? Could the baby just be a dark green instead of a yellowface? Picture: I had help from a friend who held the baby while I took the photo.

Hi When show budgies are 6 weeks old should they have boofy heads like adult show budgies? Do my baby budgies look like show budgies? Or pet type? The parents are both show budgies but recessive pied brings the size of babies down doesnt it? Also, what age can budgies start to fly? The babies have full wings and flap them like mad but they cannot fly yet, Is this normal? I could not find any informationabout this in the budgie milestones topic so I asked here. If anyone is getting annoyed by all my questions please tellme I will stop immediatley. Thanks.

Why We Should Quarantine
I never used to quarantine my birds and I had alot of losses, I did not even know what quarantine was. But when I joined this forum I was informed about it and now I have only had one budgie pass away since... and that was due to stress/heart problems.
