  1. Yes it is jimmy they get bigger everyday. From this: To this: To this: To this: and finally: I should add that the two youngest neon and thunder babies can fly perfectly well now, and the eldest is growing feathers quite fast. I dont want to leave the eldest by himself so I'm leaving the other babies in their with him until he can fly also.

  3. I use olive oil.
  4. Well you know what you have to do, don't you? You need to buy them and bring them back to good health. Simple really, I can't understand why you're making such a fuss. Lilbabybudgies said she does not have enough room to house them.
  5. I have changed nestbox and sprayed everywhere, I have not seen any mites. If I take a close up photo of one of them could somebody identify that it is definitly a red mite?
  6. Hi all When all chicks reach 8+ days old and their are no eggs, is the mother required to incubate the chicks? Both neon and summer only go in to feed the chicks but do not incubate them at night. The babies keep eachother warm by sticking close together.
  7. Hi The babies are getting their colour back and have 0 bugs on them. The mite spray must have worked. I think they will survive. The youngest baby that I put in neons nest is being fed and is not white anymore. I'm just wondering if the baby should be fostered back into summers nest or can she stay in neons? Thankyou.
  8. I use the same wormer as JimmyBanks
  9. they are still very very pale and weak. They do not chirp or anything.

  12. Hi Thankyou. This is my only wooden cage, the others are steal, and this cage has the nest box attached to the side where as the other steel cages have nest boxes that attach to the front. And the babies are very weak so I'm not sure if they can call for food. Should I move them? thankyou would putting the babies in a plastic container at the bottom of the cage be a better idea? Thankou
  13. Hi I thought that if I moved them to a new cage then the parents would not use the nest box and would forget about the babies. Another baby has died and has little dots of blood on his back and crop... I have sprayed the cage and the nest box but it stinks so I'm going to leave the babies out for an hour... is this okay?
  14. Hi thankyou KAZ and Melbournebudgies. I have aristopet bird mite and lice spray: 0.5 g/l pyrethrins 5g/l piperony butoxide Can I use this?
  15. HiThis morning I woke up and found 2 baby budgies dead in the nest box (8 -10 days old). Their are tiny little bugs (very very small) on the other babies and one of the babies is very pale white. I have cleaned the nest box and cage out very well and I have got rid of most the bugs. Im worried about the health of the babies, what are these bugs and how do I stop them..I've fosted the youngest baby into another nest but their is not enough room for the others, all babies have been fed.Thankyou.The babies are very weak and barley move... their were no bugs last night.I got rid of the mites 10 minutes ago and now they are all back again. They are coming out of the babies ears. Urgent help is needed please.
  16. Hi all If I were to put the babies in an ice cream container on the bottom of the cage during the day do you think the parents woud feed them then? Can I try this?
  17. Oh okay Thankyou KAZ. I will buy some hand rearing formula and feed the babies but leave them in the nest box.
  18. Yes I am a member of totally tiels, no one is onlinee
  19. okay Thankyou KAZ. My budgies always incubate their babies but with my cockatiels they just go in and feed and go out. I have never seen the cockatiels keeping their babies warm or staying in the nest box for long periods of time, Maybe the babies keep eachother warm by bunching in together?
  20. I was thinking budgies and cockatiels are basically the same with their diet and the sort. Is their a rearing mix I can make myself that does not require a pestle and mortar? Also, Why do the babies need a heat pad or light? In the nest box they dont have a heatpad or light but they still survive. Thankyou I will join a tiel forum now.
  21. Hi. What do I need to sucessfully handraise baby cockatiels? Is a fish tank with shavings in the bottom and a lid good enough for the babies t be in? Or do I need a heat pack or lighting? And Is vanila yoghurt a good food for them to be raised on? The reason I'm askign is because the cockatiels arent even feeding the big babies anymore. They have not been fed at all today. I will see how it is tomorow but if they are not fed again tomorow I think I will have to handraise them.
  22. I fed them at 9 pm last night. Their are now 5 baby budgies all have been fed. The youngest cockatiel (1 Day old) has dissapeared from the nest box, I've looked everywhere and cannot find him. The parents are not paying any attentuion to the younger babies, they are only feeding the older ones. I have fed the babies plain yoghurt again this morning. Should I just keep doing this till they are bigger and hopefully the mother will feed them? Or should I handraise them myself? Their is no blood on either cockatiel so I dont think they ate the baby..
  23. I have quails, cockatiels and a dove in my avairy with budgies and they all get along quite well. I have read that peachfaces (lovebirds) get very territorial and will kill other birds, so dont go putting peachfaces in their. Goodluck.
