  1. I agree with **Liv**. Could you put him in a hospital cage and warm him up? Then take him to a vet?
  2. Second baby hatched today.
  3. I love the possum shannon, and all the other outdoor pictures. Do you have any pictures of the fledged babies?
  4. okay Thankyou very much Renee,
  5. okay is that their only fault? What about this baby, and this cock
  6. okay thanks very much Renee, Here are 2 new birds if anyone would like to comment. This cock: You do not need to judge the hen if you do not want to
  7. Hi. I dont have any comments about changing the pairs but the birds are magnificent. I really like the male recessive pied, well done.
  8. Thankyou Renee I am going to enquire in the next week or so. When you join a club, do you get a book or some sort of guideline article that tells you the australian standard and faults etc...
  9. Hi thankyou Renee and Melbournebudgies for the comments. They are not related, both from seperate parents. By pairing the cock with the hen, would the width of face and spot issues be resolved? Hen has lots of spots but cock has not many, so would it even it out for the chicks?
  10. Hi. I would like to see how my birds rate in the show world. If you could tell me the faults and good points about the bird, I will greatly appreciate it. First are these 3. Baby skyblue cin Thankyou.
  11. Hi. I am hoping to join a budgie society in a few months time. I want to get a few more babies first, then join. I also want to finish the breeding room and some of the flight sheds. At the moment I'm just trying to breed good birds. I feel I have the correct parents for the job.
  12. Most of the uk breeders I know use the method. I will ask why they do it.
  13. Thankyou for your post dave. The grey green pair have been in my avairy for a while now and are not in quarantine at this point. They were quarantined when I bought them last year. I put the hen in when her cere is lightish brown, slowly she will come further into condition. I do not put hens in with white/blue ceres and I try not to put hens in with crusty brown ceres. The question I asked about another pair was if I could put a pair straight out of quarantine into breeding cabinets. this question was asked ages ago and I did not end up doing it. And I also made a post a few weeks ago saying if I should split the birds up after one clutch or not. Most people I know do 2 clutches then 6 month break then another 2. The birds I talked about were only finished their first clutch, and I wanted to know whether I should wait a while or put them back in the avairy. I decided to wait 3 days, just incase the hen laid eggs in the avairy. The pair were in perfect health. On the second day she laid an egg. Now she has 3 and is still in perfect health. If she shows any signs of stress, beleive me I will foster the eggs out. I always thought If you put a hen in a breeding cage out of condition (bluish white cere) that she will be more prone to eat her eggs and hurt the chicks and cock, is this incorrect? I have also read that some breeders get an amount of hens and the same amount of cocks. They put all hens in one cage and all cocks in another. The cages are side by side so they can hear eachother. I am told this gets the birds into condition aswell. I am yet to try this. thankyou all. and thankyou dave for the advice.
  14. Could he be a yellowface mauve? The grey is very dark which I have never seen before.
  15. Skyblue dom pied to yf grey (could even be gf???) Some babies blue some grey. half babies wil be dom pied half babies will be normals 50% of the babies will be yellowface If father is mauve - All chicks will be blues. Cobalts.
  16. Hi all. I have good news. Pet pair 2 had its first baby today The hen was originally bred last year and then sold as a chick to my uncle. About 3 months ago my uncle moved away and could not look after her. So she came back to my place. I have just called him and he is very happy.
  17. both cock birds. nice close up pictures also.
  18. I have been thinking the exact same question. I often see dominant pieds with clear flight feathers and I wander, why cant it be a clearflight pied?
  19. Very nice pictures Elly. I wish my dog was tame like them.
  20. One of my cockatiels has scissors beak. If your baby is very young you can massage it every day and it should mould back into place. If it is older then it needs an operation to be fixed.
  21. Yes, note the white nares. The cere is white and bluish which indicates hen.
  22. Pearce replied to Daz's topic in Breeding Tips
Hi Daz. The link will not load for me, just wondering if you have a new copy?
  23. Yes sorry Dave it is a hen. I say he to just about anything now. I'm used to having so many cock babies.
