I will give them one more week.
  2. Shannon may I ask why you do not have any shavings in your nesting boxes? It will keep them alot cleaner and also help to prevent splayed legs. You have alot of eggs, well done
  3. He is definitly grey green opaline, if he was olive he would have a blue tail.

Thankyou daz, nerwen and maesie. The hen in question is still inbreeding condition and tip-top health. She raised 6 babies so maybe she has just had enough for a while. Usually she would have laid eggs by now right? I just do not want to release them and then have her laying eggs in the avairy.

Hi I like the cage but I would definitly remove the nest boxes. Having only 2 boxes with tha tmany birds will cause many fights, especially because they are so close together.

Hi. I have a pair that just finished raising their first clutch 2 weeks ago, the youngest chick was fully weaned and released exactly 14 days ago. Usually the hen would have started a new clutch by now, but this hen has not. Should I release the hen and cock and give them a rest or should I wait a few more weeks? Any tips or advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.
  7. boof looks like a grey green opaline to me, need to know colour of tail to be precise.
  8. You didn't let anyone down, dont worry about it. This is a good cockatiel forum, http://talkcockatiels.com/
  9. okay so maybe grey green to grey green isnt such a good pairing... I have a few skyblues and greys i can pair with them
  10. Hi. If a pair has one clutch and the chicks are full weaned and released, how many weeks should I wait for them to lay another clutch? It has been 2 weeks so far so maybe they need a break isntead of laying another clutch?
  11. She has been bathed twice and it does not come off. And the throat spots are definitly cinnamon.
  12. Do double factor grey greens look the same as single factor grey greens.
  13. Am I correct in saying that a grey green cock paired with a grey green hen will produce grey, grey green and blue chicks? Thankyou.
  14. I just chose random pairs Neville. Can you suggest a better cock for her? She definitly has 2 brown patches on her so that makes her cinnamon. She definitly has a patch of green on her wing so that makes her pied

I would keep about 30 in their, providing you remove the nest boxes.
  16. Beleive me, I have bathed her and tried to get the green marking off. It is definitly a colour in the feathers, if it was a marking It would have come off. She is not rung, so he does not know who the parents are. She was a throwaway chick because she lacks spots or somthing and cannot be shown.
  17. It looks like a nice wellmade cage, maybe it would be suitable for a pair of finches or a canary?
  18. okay Thankyou very much I willl check in the morning. Thankyou all.
  19. No he got the bird from an auction and then sold it directly to me. He does not have the parentage information.
  20. Most of my birds sleep hanging on the wire instead of sitting on the perch. I've always wondered why. Cute picture.
  21. It is definitly 100% a marking, not a stain. I bathed her today and tried to get it off, it definitly is not a stain. Has anyone ever heard of a quarter sider before? And she has brown spots on her back so that means she cannot be lutino
  22. Their a 2 very very small brown markings on the left wing, see fourth picture. Other than that their are no lacewing markings. I thought lutinos dont get iris rings? This one definitly has iris rings. I'm just taking wild guesses now but could she be a double factor grey green? Or double factor spangle with some genetic difference? The breeder I bought her from last year has a few birds he calls "quarter siders). He has a tcb with one white patch on the left side of the rump, and a grey green with one blue spot onthe top right hand side of the rump. Could it be a quarter sider?
  23. I am going to take another quick look at her wings/ Her wings dont have any markings on them except for the green patch on the right side.
  24. I am breeding her now with a dark green recessive pied. Thankyou all for the comments. Do lacewings usually have colour patches on their wings?
  25. I have put a new pair up to breed.
