  1. I heard that a bush budgie must be caught in the bush, and any babies bred in captivity will not be proper bush budgies. Is this incorrect?
  2. Zoey has iris rings so she is atleast 5 months old. I'm going to take an estimate and say she is atleast over 1 years of age. I cannot see the eyes of the other bird but looks like a younger recessive pied hen

Yes they come from the smallest holes and steal all the birds food and seed. Its annoying, I remember when I had quails they used to eat the ants all day long.
  8. Kaz, do you ever freeze anything for the birds? Or do you make a mix every day? I usually just make a mix every day but if I am able to freeze 2 or 3 days worth it would be alot easier. Thankyou.
  9. Hi. I've been looking at a few bird recipes and I'm wondering if they can be frozen. If I were to mix hard boiled eggs, hulled oats, bok choi and carrots together, could I freeze the left overs? If so, How long would it last in the freezer before going off?

Hi. does anyone know of a Safeway to get rid of ants in the aviary? Thanks.
  13. I look for the symptoms and isolate the birds that have it. Vet did not diagnose it, members of various forums did.
  14. It's not curable.
  15. That aviary would be big enough for you, if you dont have nest boxes in their
  16. If I were you I would take the nest box away. Remove anything that looks like a nest (open food dispensers etc...) If she lays an egg on the ground do not throw it away, foster it to another hen. It could be fertile/.
  17. If I bred one Gary Armstrong bird and one Stephen Elliot bird and the chicks were all magnificent. I would take all the credit for them at the shows.
  18. Congratulations Macka and Splat.
  19. Excellent news for both of you, well done/
  20. okay so A bird he does not need or want (does not have the desired features) would be a good bird for a novice?
  21. Is Gary Armstrong in the open class?
  22. A few people on this thread are explaining how it works shannon, take a read.
  23. Congratulations on the babies and good luck.
  24. Thanks Pearce he is a real nice bird the green suffusin lets him down but he is throughing nice young with plenty of feather. These are his Amoung a few I'd love to have a few birds like that splat. They are very very nice, well done.
  25. The parents were euthanized and so were the chicks. It its contagious and highly deadly. Birds with pbfd live in constant pain and unfortunately their is no cure.
