1 + 1 = ?
You probably dont need this jimmy but I will post anyway, I remember you posted this ages ago and everyone said hen, but now everyone seems to be changing their minds. I think its a cock, if the bird has had the same cere all its life then I definitely think its a cock. Lacewing cock to normal hen = Lacewing hens, Normal cocks / lacewing. Lacewing hen to normal cock = Normal cocks / lacewing, normal hens.

Is She Ready Or Too Young?
Looks like a pied to me, either recessive or dominant. If dominant then it is definitly too young and if recessive it could be old enough as they dont get iris rings. I would wait a year from when you bought her to be sure.

Figure This One Out Peoples
Personally I think its a grey green normal. But it cant be? That would be too simple. I have a feeling its going to be something no one suspects.

What Sex Is My Budgie ?

Bird picture's
He is around 9 years old now. He was my first ever budgie and he was three years old when I bought him 6 years ago. He is also overweight so I went and bought a really big cage for him to excersise in. So far he has lost not too much. I bought finch seed for him as I was told it is less fatty. Can anyone suggest anything I can try for respiratory infections? Thanks Dave.

That bird is a cock with internal problems. He has been taken to the vet and I've put him on a few different things, none have worked. It was suggested I use chamomile tea so he is currently on that for 2 weeks.

Shes Not Feeding Them
Im only saying that is what some of the uk breeders do, their birds dont take 3 weeks bonding. It may have been 3 clutches a year.

Shes Not Feeding Them
I've been told they can breed 4 times in a year, with 5-6 months break in between.

Hey
Looking good shannon, when did you get the pied and the two spangles? Very good. Pied is my favourite. You should pair him with a bigger bird.

Hey

Recognising The Early Stages Of Scaly Face
Dirty brown marks above the cere indicate respiratory problems if im not mistaken. One of my birds had this and I put him on a week of chamomile tea and he was cured. The tea relieves the problem like it relieves sinus for us.

Recognising The Early Stages Of Scaly Face
Personally I dont think its scaly face. All birds get that flaky look. That cere is actually quite clean.

I layed sand in one of the aviaries today so some the birds were moved into a small cage for 10 minutes. I took some photos.

Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
I layed sand today and all the birds had to go in a small cage for 10 minutes. I have been trimming the beak of the cockatiel with scissors beak every 2 weeks. Today I had a look and the beak has grown so much, it was so long if I had not cut it today it would have went down his throat and stopped him breathing. I will have to trim it every 3 days or so now.

Genetics Calculators
The ones I used were to confusing, and I too would rather learn the genetics so I can do it without the calculator.

Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
Been 3 weeks since Grey green pair were introduced to the breeding cage. They are both showing interest so I will give it another week or 2. New pair will be added tomorrow, a Grey dominant pied cock to a sky blue yellow face spangle hen. Pictures will follow. The main aviary will also be lined with sand tomorrow.

My Budgies
If you pair him to a spangle you will get 25% normals, 50% spangles and 25% double factor spangles. If you pair him with a normal you will get 50% normals 50% spangles. Personally Id pair him with the spangle only because I love df spangles.
