I purchased 4 birds today and just need confirmation on mutation before adding them to the budgerigar program. first one : 2008 hen, She wouldnt sit in the show cage so I had to take pictures in a big cage. shes definitly a cinnamon spangle, just not sure whether grey green or olive?? 08 opaline spangle skyblue cock. What do you reckon?? Yellow texas clearbody male. Is it opaline??? Grey green cinnamon spangle 06, or olive??? hen Thanks.

Hey Daz. Thanks very much for all the nice comments. Yes I'm in Ipswich budgerigar Society and they are all rung with my rings.

I'm definitely not going to kill it. I have advise that it should fix itself automatically. A member had a bird previously exactly liked mine, she made sure no food got stuck on the beak and it corrected itself. If it does not correct itself, I will take it to a vet. Thanks to all who have helped.

I have a baby with an off shape beak. I do not know if it is genetic or what. It could have been food on their overnight, but I clean the birds morning and night. Any ideas what I can do? Thankyou.

what cage did you take to bring birds home in? A show cage? A box? Do you have a picture.

What were they like? Did you find it easy to find the birds you like and put your name down

If worse comes to worst you can get those heat pads or other heat sources for snakes/reptiles or egg incubators. I am going to stock up on lightbulbs.

made a small travel cage today to use when I buy birds. Its a little bigger than a show cage and it looks alright. The ply cost me $20 on its own. Instead of bird wire on the front I used screen messiah wrapped over 4 times. I figure this will be better on the birds if they accidentally fly up against it.

All my birds moult at this time too. Feathers everywhere. Excellent pictures.

Going to a bird show on saturday. Only ever been to one before and I dont really know how they work so I'm pretty nervous. A few people their I have met before so it should be fun.

Congratulations its very exciting isnt it. I've never heard of 2 hens nesting in the same box but if they are happy with it then I say let them go for it. Very nice hens their in the picture.
