First Time Eggs
that is a good idea. You can try a few things to increase your chances. Before breeding. put cocks in one cage hens in another. Leave cages side by side for 2 weeks. This breaks all bonds and the birds are desperate for a mate. Then you choose pairs and put them in the breeding cages. Or you could put them all in one cage, let them choose their own partners. Once bonded you can put them in seperate cages. I do the first method and it works well for me.

First Time Eggs
Same answer for me. Four weeks. Lets say I paired them up on april first. If it got to May 8-12th and their were no eggs. They would be split up. And either tried again in a few weeks or change pairs.

How Much Birds You Reckon This Aviary Could Hold?
I wouldnt have more than 8 in that aviary as kaz said. Its not the shape I would choose. Budgies dont need height, they need length and depth. Flip it on its side and bolt it to your house. Would fit more that way.

Natural Remedies.
Hi. I know Apple Cidar vinegar is a good internal cleaner for birds and I know raspberry cordial is the same. I also know chamomile tea is good for respiratory infections, Are their any other good natural remedies for disease? Is their anything natural I can use for worming? thankyou.

Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
Excellent read Dean its good to see you have goals and you love what you do. Have a thousand thoughts of what to do circling my head. I do not breed for show, but I am a member of a club and do have show birds. I just like the look of a show bird more than the pet type bird. I think I will keep on breeding show birds, but never show them.

Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
I only have 10 breeding cages and only use about 4-5 at a time. Its so hard to sell the birds. I dont know which ones to sell and which ones to keep. I'm going to keep the birds, just thinking about stopping breeding. I only have like 9 breeding pairs, the rest are young babies. Do you breed for show dean? What are your goals? I had an ambition to breed a stud full of yellowface blues. But then after researching I found that breeding 2 yellowface blues together results in df yf blues which have white faces. So thats gone out the window. I am thinking of downsizing the birds. I may make a thread and post all the birds and you guys can tell me whether they are keepers or sellers. thankyou very much Dean.

thinking of stopping bird breeding all together. Its very costly and I'm running out of money. Im also busy with work and tafe it does not leave much time for anything else.

Day 1 To Day 42.
was sitting in the aviary today and watched tiny's father go in the nest box, grab a beak full of shavings and exit. He would repeat this for ages. He will not let me add more shavings, he just keeps removing them. I thought hens are the ones who usually do this
