  6. Hi all Ive been getting mixed opinions on whether ivermectin treats and prevents worms or not? If it does then its good but if it doesnt I will need to get some wormout gel. Can anyone confirm?
  7. Excellent birds as always Kaz. I love the grey greens, you seem to breed alot of them.
  8. thankyou Kaz I will release them both.
  9. Hi I have a pair of birds. They had one clutch, raised the chicks well. Now I was hoping they would lay another clutch. The hen lays every one of her eggs off the perch. I mean every one. She used the nest box for the first clutch why not for the second? Their are no babies in with her at the moment just her and her partner. She sits in the nest box all day but when she comes out she lays the egg, what is with that? Im thinking of releasing them, maybe they are too stressed. What do you think?
  10. Thankyou Heath and all. What is in the Seed mix from Karlos I would not have a clue Daz. He makes mine when he makes his. It has various seeds in it and its very good quality. How can I get iodine to add to the water Daz? What is aviclens? What does it do? What is budgie starter and what does it do? I give calcivet twice a week. I'm interested to hear what those things are, maybe I could get them and use them? True grit, Budgie starter, Aviclens and idone. Where do I get these products? Thanks Daz.
  11. I use milk thistle also. If you break the stem you will see white sap inside. The birds eat the entire stem. The stem is also more square than it is rounded. Botanic name is Silybum marianum Do not get it mixed up with other thistles.
  12. I like them they look like bush budgies to me.
  13. Thankyou Daz What am I not feeding them that is causing this?
  14. That is exaxtly like my birds If they hit somthing the feathers fall out like that so I end up having to pull them.
  15. pair 2, 4 and 8 are my favourites. LOVE the yf's and in pair 8 that cocks colour is amazing. Also I like the grey spangle.
  16. Air sac mites cause clicking I beleive. is that the same as a lung mite? Im not going to sell. I was annoyed and still am but friends have convinced me to stick at it. Going to do alot of work on the weekend on the aviary. Also going to try figure out why all these chicks are born with weak feathers, very annoying. 6 months ago I had the same problem. French moulter, passed away at a young age. Cockatiel with scissors beak. i trim it every weak and he is going great. Eats like the rest of the birds. soo many problems. BUT Can you beleive this young cock here Turned into this
  17. Jailbreakers
  18. Yes its very annoying. Someone else suggested ivermectin for the birds also dean so you are definitly on to somthing their. I've got an old really thick curtain I hang over the wire on the aviary on raining days and it seems to work. Hasnt rained in a while so yeah.. Thats my main concern.
  19. maybe violets I'm not good with violets. they look violet to me rather than cobalt.
  20. the birds cannot get to the bleach. Daz if you get time are you able to ask Henry why some chicks have weak flight feathers that fall out all of the time? Im pretty sure its not french moult, but its happened in 2 clutches so It could be somthing else.
  21. Hi Daz Every weekend I bleach the breeding room and hose it down completley. The aviary is done every month. The breeding birds get: Calcium and iodine bells (24/7 access) Bird seed mixed by Karlos They get a range of different vegetables each day, depending. Also eggs and other mixes. Egg food ocasionally. Hulled oats 3 days per week. Millet spray once per week. The water - 2 days per week calcivet. 2 days per week acv 3 days per week plain water. The birds are wormed every 6th months and treated for mites every 6 months. Sprayed with ail.
  22. when you stick them in the aviary what happens if they dont get up high enough for the food? Or do you have food low down on the ground for them
  23. why are they born like that? What causes it?
  24. Problems after problems just annoy me like nothing else. I dont earn alot of money and the money I do earn needs to go towards other things. So I struggle to buy medications etc. I am going to take down my big aviary and possibly put the birds in the breeding shed or somthing else Im not sure. You;ve had baby birds with bad flights Kaz? The current babies if they fly into anything they lose flight feathers. They fall out so easy. Another pairs last clutch had the same problem. How is it fixed.
