  1. If you mean as in on her belly then yes, nothing further up her chest though other than that spot. Isn't there something to do with iris rings...No iris ring equals recessive?
  2. I promise it's there! Her is nother copy of the photo, I've left it a little larger(feel free to delete it fter you've looked if it comes out too big) and I've circled her spots for you! I real life these spots are bright blue http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x259/er...x/1DSC00485.jpg I will hve to take more pics tomorrow
  3. She hs a blue rump, tummy and a blue spot o her throatAccording to my 'reserch the opaline gene causes the spangles to be the body colour...
  4. to clarify I was asking if it was dominant or recessive pied?
  5. okay so I will gradually upload them and label them but there is lots of resizing involved so in the meantime here is my album link: http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x259/er...lexmax/?start=0 There are heaps of photos on there of my kids and other birds too but nothing sacred so feel free to sticky beak :grin:First few: Spangle recessive pied YF cinnamon wing green opaline YF opaline spangle A toughy - there are one or two opaline marks on the wings but otherwise only very pale, also missing body colour over the rump. At this stage I was guessing skyblue clearwing maybe masking opaline? Yellow? cinnamon opaline???
  6. You ust have to persevere, try grating up apple, carrot and celery and mixing it with a bit of his seed. You can eve take his straight seed away then for a day and see if he gives in. As fas as perches manicures aren't a worry, wild birds don't have sand paper perches! I would take out ay fake perches completely and just put natural branches in there.
  7. It's hard to take a good photo of him because he won't sit still but he seems to have that purplish sheen around his bum...
  8. Yeah, yeah, I'll still post once I can access the net so that I can get confirmation
  9. okay so thanks to a helpful site supplied by Neat I have determined that I have, Goldenface spangles, Goldenface opaline spangles, cinnamons, greywings and full-body-colour greywings, also maybe some clearwings with very pale markings but I'll have to look closer! Wow, wasn't expecting such a mix!
  10. I've tried looking at those Neat, they seem to all look the same to me My internet server has been down since yesterday arvo so hopefully it will be working tonight and I'll be able to post picks at home, otherwise I'll have to try and do it at work.
  11. I'll have to try and take some, they are in the aviary so the light's not great and they are moving so much, I'll update tonight with some piccies if I can.
  12. Can anyone help me with wing markings? I have a number of different wing markings in my aviary and I am having trouble telling what is what! I have some where the body colour is coming through on the edge of the wing feathers (On an otherwise clear feather) is this spangle? And what's the diff between this and lacewing? I also have some which I guess are greywings but they aren't really grey all the way over the feather and some which are cinnamon something or others! (Maybe opalines ) I can't believe I am struggling so much with this! I have had birds, including budgies, for so long but I've only really now got the time to get interested in this aspect of it so it's a steep learning curve! HELP!!
  13. Sounds like the two white ones are pieds of some sort and the other is a sky blue grey wing. There are some pages with photos of members budgies on them pinned under the budgie mutations forum heading so if you look through those you might find one that looks the same. You could also compare your greywing to a baby I sold recently. Look in Budgies for sale and find my post for babies for sale in Melbourne about three or four down (don't get confused with Waynos post though ). Erin
  14. But keep in mind that quarantine should then really run 4 weeks from tomorrow for all of them, including the ones that you already have
  15. Well, that's it then. I hope you have a spare room because I'll be there tomorrow... Either that or you could send her here
  16. If you want to start handling her it would be best to clip her wings at first so that if she gets away from you she is easy to catch without stressing her out. She most likely will get slightly tamer but I wouldn't expect miracles. How about Peggy...
  17. Sigh... I'm in Melbourne or they would be welcome to join my flock.
  18. The shaft would be fairly thick and probably have a tinge of feather colour.
  19. Sorry I meant to say has it still got a sheath which is enclosing the rest of the feather, my bird used to get these when she was being lazy with her preening and if I gently rubbed the shaft between my finger the rest of the sheath would break apart and ta-da she had a whole feather.
  20. Also you say the rest of the shaft is bare. Is it really bare or has it still got a sheath around it from when it grew?
  21. :Polishes knuckles proudly: Well I had to let him get a motorbike but I reckon I got the better end of the bargain
  22. If he gets some chicken wire and lays it on the aviary floor and puts bricks around the edges or buries it under the dirt that'll stop it.
