Here she is, I hope I'm right, there is a strong chance I could be completely off! :hap:

Australian Native Plants
Well apart from the fact that gum is Eucalyptus, you can feed all of those, no particular type. I also give tea-tree.

What A Weekend!
Just watch them closely too. I know the dog is in the kitchen but even with their wings clipped they can still fly a little so they could potentially make it into the kitchen but then not have enough puff left to get away from the dog.

Is My Male Confused
....I bet the girl is hoping he'll lay the eggs and sit on them for her too

Hello Everyone
And photos too if you can

Id Please
Thanks Elly, I have a yellow cinnamon opaline which is probably why I was confused.

Id Please
So does that mean that if the eyes were dark I would have been right or was I way off?

Mutation Help Please
Well the opaline gene causes the spangles(on her wings yes) to come through as the body colour. So she is skyblue opaline spangle, possibly also carrying the cinnamon colour but it may be masked by her other colouration on her wings. She is also most likely carrying violet too.

Is 15 what's called a dutch pied? Also I'm not good at my lacewings but is no. 2 a lacewing or a cinnamon opaline?

Mutation Help Please
Not sure about the cinn that Elly is talking about, I can't see that. I would say skyblue clearwing also. The darker colour I see on her neck is a purply colour is that right? If so I would say she is carrying violet......I've just looked again and now I can just see the spangles, are they brown(cinnamon), grey or are they blue? If they are blue she is an opaline spangle.

Decision Made On Who I Will Pair My Albino With
Not wanting inos at this stage, I won't get any with my birds, just wanting some split males This is just as much an informed guessing game for me at this stage, thought it might be fun to take a few guesses and then see what we get

Albino Photos
Derrr, I knew that! Lutino is a 'green' equivalent, I was having a stoopid moment. You don't see the colour normally it was just when the camera flash hit.

Albino Photos
I took this photo of my albino today, I don't know what she masks. When the light hit her she reflected a definate greeny yellow sheen. Just wondering if a bird masking blue reflects blue. Does anyone have photos of an albino that they know masks blue that has done this?

Internal Aviary Photos
The birds need plenty of space to perch but they also need space to fly too. I have hanging dishes for my seed and a metal stand with a ceramic tray for my fresh food. You can get large ceramic bird feeders that are just beautiful for $17 from bunnings.

Those Who Have Bred Creminos

Is My Male Confused
Well my first pair that I took out of the aviary for breeding are going great guns, three fertile eggs and one clear egg so far. The second however seem a little confused. Every other pair I have evr had the female tends to hang out in the nest box with the male sitting outside during the lead up to laying. However this time my male is sitting in the nest box and the little woman has been relegated to the box perch. Is this common as this has never happened with any of my other birds?

Putting Together A Cage For Budgies
okay, well we have a couple of annoying cages like that. You have to think them through logically, put the sides where the sides go and then work your way through it one piece at a time. You could lay all the pieces out and we could try and advise if you like

Putting Together A Cage For Budgies
If the shop's not far away and they have one already assembled you could go have a look at it.

Cleaning Nesting Boxes......
You shouldn't really need to, the parents are unlikely to mess the box and the eggs certainly won't! If you have to then just gently take the eggs out and put them on a warm towel and then clean quickly, put the eggs back in and put it back in the same spot.

Decision Made On Who I Will Pair My Albino With
Well this will be the father of the first generation bred to my albino. Any thoughts on what babies we might get? I don't know what the albino is masking. Once we have babies I'll pull this thread and see who got closest  He is GF opaline spangle (incase the photos don't show it well the spangles are bright blue)

A Little Advice Please
I can slide the door almost all the way to the top, the front of the cage has a full size door as well as doors on each side which makes it quite easy to get into. I easily put my hand in just now and gently took the eggs out one by one for candling. I'd rather not cut this cage as it is actually my best cage. Another option though is that if it is okay to move it slightly lower I can fit the perch and the hole onto the side door so that the box sits outside the cage. She is a VERY devoted mother so I doubt this would upset things too much.
