Thanks for asking how Jadon went, i have been busy the last couple of days so sorry for not replying early. He has gone so much better than i thought he would.He was happy and had no tears when i left him at school. The first 2 days were only half days so it will be interesting to see how he goes next week when he is there all day. He did not wet his pants at all which i am very pleased about. After his first day i asked him if he like it and he said yes and then i said he gets to go back again and he said" Oh, not another day, i think i will just go to school 2 days a week like preschool"

Tomorrow is the big day when Jadon starts school, he is so excited and nervous at the same time tonight. It took a while for me to get him to sleep. I am very anxious about it and really hope he settles in well to a new environment. As some members know Jadon has Aspergers Disorder so it was a hard decision to make about sending him to school, i thought about holding him back a year but nsw laws do not allowed it and i also thought about homeschooling him but he wants to go to school with his brother and sister . i really hope i have made the right decision for him and he copes with going to school. The last couple of weeks he has been having wee accidents so i am praying they stop once he gets used to going to school. I would love lots of good thoughts and prayers for him and myself. while i am writing this i am getting teary eyed, i think i will be a totally mess tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that Bella was not well but i am glad she has responded to treatment and hope she has no more problems.

Thanks for the advice, their wings have been clipped so i have put them in a cage in my breeding room till their wings have grown back. It was hard to move Roxy out of the house but she has bonded to the other budgies now and chirps cranky at me if i put my hand near her. Runt is a boy i handraised 15 months ago and has a placid personality so i am going to spend time just taming him. Even though he has always been in a cage with other budgies he loves to talk and he steps up.

The problem with not having a solid base in a aviary is that mice will dig under the sides and get into the aviary.

Since i have moved Roxy with my 2 boys she is not as tame and has started biting. one of my boy budgies is also biting me when i put my hand in the cage and the boys are not talking as much. I do not have to time to work with them individually so i am moving 2 of them to the outside aviary. What is the best way to make the move the easiest for them. Should i put them in a cage near the aviary so they get used to being outside before i put them in the aviary.

This is nothing to do with his head but I was just wondering, would he possibly be able to hurt his toes in the chain? I used to use wire to hang my perches up in the aviary but one of my budgies cut his foot on a sharp end of wire so i changed to chains a few months ago and so far none of my budgies have hurt themselves.

The middle section will get enclosed, i will get some more tin for the roof and back wall and a door at the front. I am finally getting the better of the mice, yesterday i was hosing the avairies out and a mouse came out of a very tiny hole so i kept hosing it to stop it from escaping out of the breeding room while Michael grabbed a piece of wood and whacked it. Then as he was killing it another mouse came running out of the small hole so he got it as well. I have blocked the hole now so hopefully it is the last i will see of them.

One of my budgies is going through a moult and a couple of days ago he had a head full of pin feathers and he was scratching his head on the branches heaps. Today i noticed he has a rubbed some of the feathers from the top of his head off, is it normal for that to happen during moulting. i checked him and cannot see any mites or anything else wrong with him.

yes, it is just bird seed i have planted in the pots but my budgies take a long time to eat it.

Last week i moved all the budgies to one aviary and change the setup of my other aviary. i have changed the direction it was facing so i could have a safety door and more room for storing my spare cages. i still have to finish the middle section but here are some before and after photos. He is very cute

The tyres was able to be inflated and is fine, thank goodness because it is new. The only damage was the splashplate behind the wheel got broke when the wheel fell off. We have never had a flat tyre before when we have been on the beach so have never thought about carrying a plank of wood. We always carry a shovel and have had to use it a couple of times. We were very lucky that it happen when we were near the water and not out in the middle of the dunes where there is less people driving pass and nothing for the kids to do.

It has been very hot this week so on Tuesday we thought we would take the kids 4wdriving on the beach early in the morning and let them have a swim. When we got there a sandstorm had come so it was hard to see the rise and fall in the dune which meant we had to take it easy. We knew there was some tin houses on the beach so we decided to look for them and found them. We decided then to leave the dunes and head to the water but then that is when we had a problem, my son wanted to let some air out of the tyres before we got on the beach but he let too much out. We found ourselves stuck and wondering how to change a tyre in the sand. Luckily someone drove past that was carrying a plank of wood, a hour later we had the spare tyre on but we have never used it since we bought the car and the nuts did not want to go on properly but hubby did the best he could and hoped it would get us home. On he way home the car started to make some noises form the wheel, hubby thought we had probably broke the tyre rod or cv joints from bogging in the sand. If we rang for road side assistanc you usually have to wait a hour before they get to you so we 4 kids and a puppy on a 30 degree day we decided to drive home slowly and hope we make it. We got 2 km from home and then we heard a big bang and the car front dropped onto the road and our tyre went rolling down the road. My kids thought it was funny watching daddy chasing a tyre down the highway. The wheel nuts had fallen off. We ran for road assistance with the company we have a membership with and got told that once the car have impacted the road they could not help us so if we wanted a tow we would have to pay for it in cash when they came to get us. We had no cash on us so we had to get some friends to give us a lift to the shops to get the right size wheel nuts and fixed it ourselves. Our quick trip to the beach ended up turning into a nightmare of a trip.

My son Jadon has a 4month old Cavalier King Charles called Kacey, he is a very spoilt puppy. He loves being with you all the time. Jadon loves going to sleep with him at night. he sleeps in lots of funny positions Loving christmas paper The kids decided to make him a boat out of a lid and put him in their wading pool

Thanks for everyones compliments, with the feather issues she had because of her poor diet as a baby i am really glad it improved with her moulting and better eating habits.

Roxy has finally gone through her first moult and is back to herself again. I have moved her into the cage with the 2 boys and they are getting along great.

After christmas I am going to be putting rapid set cement over the bricks in my avairy. I am moving the budgies into cages while i do it and were going to put them in the breeding room next to the aviary. Does the concrete give off fumes while you are working with it? Will the budgies be okay being near?

I bought my son some books where he has to trace over the letters of the alphabet for christmas, i got them from Angus and Robertson for $10. There was also books for young children where they just trace over patterns.

Sonny is very handsome, he is very lucky to have found you and i hope he settles in well.

I just had to post some more pics. Kasey is so cute and my son adores him. This morning wherever Jadon is he takes Kasey with him and Kasey just curls up and goes to sleep next to him.

The first night went great, he only whine a few times. I think he realised that whining was not geting him attention. Before bedtime Jadon was outside playing with him and they have already started to bond. Kasey was following him everywhere and when Jadon stopped walking Kasey just sat down next to him. He is a very smart puppy. When he was calling him, Kasey would come to him and Jadon said "look Mummy , Kasey loves me" It was really sweet to watch him laughing and playing with his puppy.
