Since we got home the kids have been cuddling him heaps but he is not toilet trained so he is in my back screened area and everytime we come inside and leave him he whines. At the moment he is whinging constantly. Here is pics of my son and Kasey

I have just bought a puppy for my son and i will be picking it up tomorrow night. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, after lots of research which feel it is the best breed for my son. He is not toilet trained so i will have the fun part of trying to train him seeing it is going to be inside the house alot. I will post pics when i bring him home. My son is very excited about getting his own puppy.

I hope things go well with your specialist appointment and you get some answers. i am sorry to hear that your daughter has gone undiagnosed for so long, that would have been hard for you. Tony Attwood has a website that i have looking at and i plan on buying his book.

I have been doing some research on Aspergers disorder and it has made me feel more postive.i thought i would share a little i learnt if anyone is interested. Aspergers is on the milder end of autism and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills. They have very literal and logical thought process which means i have to be very specific in what i say to him. I am finding that hard, to really think about how i word things when i speak to him. A couple of days ago i had a little problem with him when i sent him to his room because he was being difficult and i told him to "stay in his room and play with his cars and not come out till i come to get him." When i went to get him he had pooed and wet his pants, i asked him why he did it and his answer was "you told me not to leave my room". That is just one of the many incidents of wrong communication, it is going to be a challenge for me to remember to think about my words. They have no social sense so they find it hard to make friends. We are thinking about getting him a puppy for christmas, he is very gentle with animals and we think it might be good therapy to have a puppy. I would love lots of prayers and postive thoughts as me and my family look at the best ways for us to help Jadon.
  10. It will interesting to find out what it does exactly mean, i could have some spangles carrying cinnamon then.
  11. I thought that df spangles were born with plum eyes, i have had one born with plum eyes and i think MB has had one as well.
  12. Looks like you had a very production day, hope the new aviary will be up and running soon.
  13. I hope you can find a way to keep them out. It must be the hot weather bringing them back because i thought i had got rid of all mine but i saw mouse poo in my breeding room yesterday. i still have to work out how they are getting in.
  14. Do not feel guilty Dave, you were not to know and the vet was telling me that the fat cells produce very slowly so it could have occur from a poor diet as a baby. i am adding the iodine to the water so i know for sure she is getting it.
  15. The vet was saying that lipomas (fatty tumours) can occur due to obesity, hypothryoidism or genetic so the iodine will help to simulate the thyroid gland to break down the fat cells but if it does not work for her then hers is not caused by a thyroid problem. It will be a trial and error process.
  16. you have a very cute bub and i am glad it is doing well.
  17. The vet rang this morning to check how the hen was going and she is starting to have problems flying due to the extra weight of the fatty tumour so we discussed treatment options. I am going to give her a iodine supplement on a 2 week trail period to see if it helps reduce the tumour. Research has shown that it is sucessful in 50% of cases so hopefully it will work.

Thanks for all your well wishes, Jadon has been diagnosed with Aspergers disorder and i am not upset at all with the results, i finally know why he is the way he is. Now i know what makes my little boy unique. The psychologist is going to send us some info of some good books and information on how to teach him the skills he struggles with. It is his communication and social skills he will need help with.

This afternoon i have my final appointment with the psychologist to get the results of all the tests that she has done on my son. I know she cannot fix him but i am finally going to get some answers so i will know how to work with him and what extra help he will need to school next year. After 5 years of not understanding how he thinks or how to treat him i am really looking forward to being able to.
  20. Been to the vets and saw a new vet who was very thorough. He took a sample of the hens mass and checked it under the microscope. It is a lipoma (fatty tumour) that she has but because it is not effecting her health or restricting her movement he recommends to just leave it.
  21. I am taking her to vets this morning because i need to know definitly what it is and how i can help her.
  22. Congratulations, you have a very cute boy
  23. I hope you get some answers soon, i have had 2 miscarriages and i understand how frustating the not knowing is and i got stuffed around heaps by doctors with my second miscariage. i will be praying that things are okay, bleeding is sometimes normal with pregnancy. With my first pregnancy i was spot bleeding for the first trimester and did not lose the baby but i did have to rest.
  24. My hen is the same, apart from the mass she is healthy and happy. i have only had her 6 weeks so i am going to get some history from the previous owner and see if it has occurred before.
  25. she looks the same as my hen.when you touch it does it feel soft and squishy? did you take her to a vet for a diagnosis?
