  3. Yes you can remove the problem hen with the older chicks and let dad finish up. Can you simply divide up the flight cage their in with some aviary wire???
  4. Could be him adjusting to the pellet diet. Sometimes they don't eat properly while changing over and as the seed portion drops they eat less and begin to get sick
  5. :hap: Alex was a scream!!!! He told me yesterday that Kaz has to visit us because he really really really really really misses her. I have a picture of hubby driving the hearse, but he doesn't want me to post it

  7. I'd say NO.
  8. Its always tough when we see the sick ones in the shops - sadly with all the dishonest people out there, there will always be sick birds on the market I have experienced a number of shops who have frequent sick birds - one place sells only FM birds. I am a fairly quiet person who doesn't like to cause a stir but shops like this leave me complaining to the manager or calling the rspca. Remember with these sick birds there can often be more serious underlying issues and could introduce unwanted diseases into you existing birds. As hard as it can be, its best to leave them alone and get the professionals to handle it.
  9. Some more holiday pics My new family From left to right Alex, El (my sister), Abby, Me, Tina (my mum) and Josh (my brother) Alex and Abby having a ball in Aly's super cool wheelchair. Libby, Kaz and I at Libby's place This is one stunning car - My hubby even got to drive it Perth is a really pretty city I love looking out the window of the plane
  10. How is his weight? his vent? is there a tail bob? is there staining in the feather above the cere? Have you changed his diet recently? has he been exposed to any other birds? Have you been exposed to any other birds and possibly brought something home? Has he had periods of not eating? has there been any damp seed or soft food that might have gone off? Lots of questions, but they will help work out what is best for him while you wait for the vet
  11. I agree with Kaz :hi:

  18. The birds Liv got from me I gave her...no price. I hope they do well for her I was totally spoilt. I hope i can make Kaz proud by taking all the paring advice on board and producing ripper babies!
  19. Thanks Daz  I like the selling concept too. I sold 8 of my pet types just before i went away for $15 each - and i tried to get a bird for $150, but i was out bid - then i learn after the auction that he was a bargain and should have gone higher
  20. I agree with SW The tale bob can be many other things. Has she any staining in the feather above her cere? What about any clicking when you put her body up to your ear as listen to her breath? The large vent could be from sitting in a box and holding in poop. Its the tale bob with no egg present that is a worry
  21. I like the shaggy look - they do look borderline FM or FD but they do look nice. I also like the tight glossy look - i have a nice cock who has the glossiest feather i have ever seen and i am in love with him
