  2. yep BOY for me too you didnt get tricked :laughter:
  3. She probably looked like a male for some time as a hen that is out of breeding condition can have a chalky blue cere. She is in breeding condition and looks to be moulting.... but also loosing all the flight feathers from one wing as she has is not just a moult - she might be having a stress moult
  4. says he with 2 budgies :laughter: They are great looking trees!! I love how they sparkle Libby, love the cat decoration!! so realistic!!!
  5. They should be okay. You often get one aggressive hen per aviary. I had one too when i was colony breeding - i removed her into the non breeding aviary and there were no further issues
  6. He could be just moulting. Is there any bald patches? The cere changing from blue to brown either means that he has some hormonal issues too or it could in fact be a female budgie. Are you able to post pictures??
  7. It is never a good idea to move nest boxes once a hen has settled in it. Your solution to this case would be to remove the aggressive hen into her own cage (without a box) and any eggs or chicks she had get put in with the other two hens.
  8. He is amazing!! Its great to see the progression shots all together too
  9. Its December and Christmas is getting near. Many people would be putting their trees up if they haven't already and it would be great to share all the beautiful Christmas trees in their full glory. :tree: :tree: :tree: :tree: :tree: :tree: I'll start with mine that i put up on Sunday. Day Night
  10. Oh! that a handsome boy :D
  11. Yum Yum Yum - they look happy with their "flowers"
  12. I love the herb planters! they are so cute It is so cool that you will get help with the flights! It's great how people are often so willing to help out
  13. She is nice, she looks like a grey-green to me too - i am not good with my greens yet. If she breeds with a blue male she will have all green babies unless she is split to blue. Some babies will be dominant pied and other will be normals.
  14. Good luck with her
  15. I use Avical which i can get from my local bird shop. Also try contacting your local budgie club and see if any members can supply you with some emergency calcium while you wait to get some.
  16. thats a good thought Kaz.... i will have to look into that and see what i can find
  17. She could possibly have mites - they are really irritating to a bird and cause excess preening and stress
  18. Snap!! Just got back from the shops after Elly gave me an idea of a nice gift shop near by. I bought a pretty picture frame Thanks so much for your help
  19. Thankyou Kaz, yes I saw you said he had a bald spot I was just wondering why he had one. Can that happen after a moult? That kind of feather loss is from a heavy moult normally related to diet change or just a bad moult
  20. well done!! I hope there are some --->> now
  21. That sounds good Elly, Will need help from the Perth dwellers of a nice shop If i get something over there i will only have half a day to go shopping for it.
  22. the second one does look like a cock, but you did use the flash so cant be 100% sure
  23. They are really cool! I love flight shots!! I still havent been able to get one myself yet Well done
