  2. I got a Show cage kit from Kaz while i was in WA and i have just started putting it together. How am i doing so far?? I am so paranoid about it - i don't want to get a marked cage next is painting, putting perches in and adding the cage front
  3. this exact topic has just been done by another member - take a look here ---> HERE
  4. I agree with Maesie - just quickly catch him (not in the dark) and clean him up and put him back - the quicker the better to reduce stress.
  5. too easy jimmy, Recessive means a bird can hide the gene while showing another, dominant means they show the gene if they have it and can not hide it
  6. There is a notice in red above the off topic forums letting you know about it Nice to have you on totally tiels Here is a link to a topic on other pet forums too ----> HERE

  12. Went out and checked this one and it looks to be a boy - will get cere shots later Bumble is with Tam, she has been very busy lately and will update us all when she has a spare moment
  13. haha JB you are very clever to tell without even seeing the cere But, yes the first baby from the first pair pictured IS a boy - well done :hap:
  14. I agree with Kaz, I have used Coopex when treating for mites - AIL is better as it has added chemicals to deform lave and stop breeding of the mites - you have to clean and treat EVERYTHING - nothing can be missed as one mite or egg will cause re infestation
  15. I agree with Kaz Cutting bars is easy too
  16. You should be able to get the mites if you really wet the cage with AIL The mites don't die really quickly and you may need to retreat. If you keep losing the battle with the mites then it is probably safer to move mother and babies like you said, rather than leave them with the mites. I really hope you can get rid of them - they are nasty little horrors!!
  17. Its Ernies BROTHER!! there are a few boys in the clutch and will be popping them up for sale again soon
  18. That is horrifying! The air would have been so thick with feathers and dust that the man wouldn't have been able to breath very well. Geez! 1700 babies from only 2 sources of blood
  19. I am so sorry My dog did it once too - luckily i was right there and got the budgie out of his mouth before he killed it, but its just their natural instinct to catch things that move.

I don't mark eggs yet, but i think i plan to when i have more pairs down, especially if i need to foster eggs etc. I don't touch eggs either (unless i have to foster) and i candle eggs in the nest using a little LED key chain light
  21. My link expired so just adding it again details are The Animal Memorial Cemetery & Crematorium St Marys Rd, Berkshire Park NSW 2765 ph: 1800 805 948
  22. Thanks so much for your help everyone Here are some more pics of the parents i took today. The mother does have iris rings, i honestly thought she was recessive till now when i saw the rings She cant be double factor otherwise all babies would be dominant pied - she is also opaline Dad http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk262/l...es/P1000865.jpg Mum http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk262/l...es/P1000866.jpg
