  1. They are very well made nest boxes! Daz is very clever. I tried to do mine myself, they still work well but dont look so flash
  2. It also depends on the temprement of the birds. I have had 2 males and 1 hen live quite happily together... I believe its when the sexes are greatly outnumbered (such as one male to say 7 hens) that it can become quite dangerous for the male.

  5. Soil is not dangerous if its clean, fresh and pure. You cant buy it. You need fresh pure soil direct from the ground, either clay or sandy loam is best. Bought stuff could have anything in it. If you dont have access to earth, then dont worry about giving it.
  6. If its unusual than it's probably worth getting her checked by a vet. unusual behaviour is normally the first sign of illness.
  7. She could be a croaker. Its a deep sound that seems to come from the chest and often involves a head bob....
  8. It wouldnt work as the birds will eat the seeds as soon as they sprout. its best to grow the grass in a pott or a selected part of your garden and give it to them a little at a time. I give my birds pure garden soil (not potting mix). Pure soil has many antioxidants, vitamins and minerals plus good bacteria in it... not to mention natural grit! birds go nuts over a dish of fresh earth taken from under the surface!!
  9. Ohhh a photo game! FUNNNN! :emoticon112: A budgie playing with a toy.
  10. So sorry they didnt make it  So awesome to get a double yolker that is fertile. With the amount of yolk left and the size of the egg... looks like the poor little things ran out of room too soon

I wouldn't.... Our human instincts can usually tell us if a plant is safe or not. May not be toxic... but sure looks sus to me and i wouldn't give it to birds.

  17. Water based paint is meant to be safe for budgies. we use it on the inside of the show cages etc... try and get any loose flakes off, but i really dont think it will cause harm... if it was oil paint then there would be a problem.
