  4. Hello and welcome John. you are in the right place to get all the info you need. The FAQ's, the forum search function and the breeding forums are full of information and if you cant find an answer to what you are looking for, always feel free to ask Would love to see some photos

Congratulations on the move... sorry there were some dramas. moving with breeding birds is very difficult at the best of times.
  6. It is so irresponsible! I really wish they would make the cost of buying a pet a lot more so people hold move financial "value" to the animals life. I also wish there was a form of medicare (like veticare) that is funded by the government to help pay vet bills. I believe this would reduce much animal neglect and increase the overall well being of most pets.
  7. Photos would help greatly here... and we need to know who is male and who is female as the albino gene is sex linked and the outcomes are very different depending on who is albino. and the Recessive pied with the red glint in the eye... you say is pure white... no markings???

  9. They are really cute Maes :thankyou: I see you have ventured into having your first boy - watch out for endless babies hehe. What age do you get a rat "done"??
  10. I agree with Dean... Also splayed legs can be from a calcium deficiency making the bones softer and susceptible to splaying and rickets.
  11. He's a stunner!!!!! :)
  12. 20 days old is very young to be fending for its self. sounds like the parents either know there is an issue with the chick and have left nature to take its course, or the parents have had enough with breeding and just abandoned it. Sad in either case You will need to create a brooder and/or provide heat with a 25 watt light globe. Plus you will need to hand feed the chick hand rearing formula. I dont know personally how to hand raise a chick, but there are many members here who know how to do it. Here is some info in the FAQ's http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...ht=hand%20raise

  21. Yes, I have had budgies and cockatiels living together for over 15 years and never seen a budgie V's cockatiel fight. Just dont over crowd the aviary as they need their own space.
  22. I am sorry for your loss  You have been given great advice already There are so many things that could have caused a death. Apart from illness your cat, the road works and the cooking string could all have done it. I really hope you find your answer soon.
