  1. WOW! He is a tiny little thing. Looks like he's the size of the bush budgies. He is lovely and i hope you can get him to settle in quick as he hasn't a lot of reserves on that slight body of his.

  7. Exciting news!
  8. They are so adorable! I love them when they are that new-to-the-world age!
  9. If the feet are fine like you say then it might be a behavioral or anxiety thing. seeing he is new he might be rather stressed and this is how he reacts??
  10. You only want lace wings to be white or yellow in the body colour. colour to the body is a show fault

    Hello and welcome
  13. i wouldn't have a clue as i know nothing of grey wings, but i am sure looking forward to seeing all their feathers come through!
  14. You are producing stunning chicks with your pairs Kaz! You are very talented with your pairing and i totally agree that a lot of features are recessive genes which is how you can get a beautiful chick from parents
  15. Its great to hear from you again Deb. I have been hoping you are well. Love the new kitchen! My mum used to have orange bench tops and a friend of mine used to have blue ones - gotta love the bright colours of the 60's - 70's (NOT!!) haha. Great to see you back and all the best with your new budgies
  16. They are doing well. They are in the crucial part of weaning. they are inside and away from their parents so things are a little tense here until i know that they will do alright when feeding themselves. They do need names. suggestions appreciated Will post more photos soon
  17. I hope they colour up. I love dominant pieds AND spangles!! You should get some dominant pieds, some normals and some spangles and some dominant pied spangles = equils beautiful babies ( maybe with some added length )
  18. He is a dominant pied. he looks to be a cobalt or a sky violet and in those pictures he is young still
  19. I agree, budgies usually chew things, but dont swallow non food items. If some did get swallowed than it will pass :sadsorry:
  20. I am so very sorry
  21. Thanks Kaz, I dont have any photos of this clutch after feathers started coming through... my bad not keeping a photo journal  Before they feathered up they were all normal looking chicks. Also 50% of these chicks also have eye issues. However one FD has perfect eyes so it may not be related as a direct symptom. They did sound differnt in the nest.... i cant really explain the sound... it was like their chirp was gravely rather than a chrisp sound. The way i noticed it was when i had fantastic looking chicks (too good to be from my nests haha) and far better than their siblings. I knew i was too good to be true. These FD's also have 4 tail feathers rather than 2. I have also noticed that dispite all their feather, they will be quite suspeptable to the cold as when they bend to preen etc, large areas of their skin is exposed due to the long feathers creating a part. I will keep on taking photos of these guys so you will all be able to see the progression of their condition. It is sad to have gotten 3 in the one nest. There must be a real close genetic occurance with the parents.... If anyone can get the breeder details of Renee Ring: BC 345 06 WA would be very helpful to knowing why there has been such a mess with this pair.
  22. Hugs Maes. I have been thinking of you through this tough time
  23. Give them two weeks in the breeding cabinet, and then introduce the nesting box after the two weeks. A hen can hold a cock birds sperm for a good 7 days so two weeks is adequate to make sure the paired cock is the only one able to have present sperm.
  24. A gorgeous little bub, and only looks young. well under his first moult so looks about 6-8 weeks old to me
