Thats great to hear that Azul will be handled. It will make your job of taming him a lot easier :hap: He is only young, so he will tame for you, it will just be a question of how much work it will take :hap:
  6. He is lovely Kaz Just a word of warning!!! You may remember i got my first inside bird in March (Scooter) Then I added, Latte, then Cookie, now I have also added Kimba AND Sammy :hap: - Inside birds are just as addictive as the outside ones!!!!! :hap:
  7. I hope she is going to be okay... To provide heat, use a lamp with a 25-40watt globe and shine it into her in her (hospital) cage. The sneezing could also be from something irritating the nasal passage, like dust for example. Is she moulting???
  8. Saving the best for last hehe!!! - Looks like it's going to be a BLACK budgie!!!!!! Or perhaps a Tiger budgie, becuase of the yellow stripes hehehe

I agree with Norm. The hen and the male need to be separated. I hope your friend has another cage. I like Norm's idea of putting some babies with each parent. It will reduce the stress on all her birds.
  13. It depends on what type the white budgie is.... it could be albino, double factor Spangle etc
  14. hahahaha!!! i have a blue one so most of my birds are blue faced greens, yellows, blues etc hahahaha - Even rarer than the pink budgie
  15. Looks Like a bird who has had an affair with a pink mineral block hahahaha.... very sweet
  16. I agree that he is a very cute male
  17. Lol!! I have one doing it in my ear at the moment..... it's very sweet

Telling gender is all about the colour of the cere. It is quite tricky for the untrained eye. Even trained eyes can struggle on some chicks hehe... I know you really want a male budgie... we will do what we can to help you pick the right one. Females will have a whitish ring around the nostrils, where a male will have pinkish purple... Have a look at this link. it has good close up pictures of the male and female cere - the baby ones are at the bottom ----> HERE

s/he looks lovely.... So exciting!!! Your baby is nearly ready Your friend needs to handle the babies as much as she can.... Just because they are babies dosen't mean that will be instantly tame. Most breeders handle chicks a number of times a day to make sure they are healthy and developing well, this makes the chicks a lot quieter and tame a lot easier than a chick that has not been handled regularly. If Azul has not been handled, s/he will be basically wild and frightened of people. You will be able to tame Azul, it will just take longer and you will have to work harder When do you get to pick Azul up???
  21. They look lovely The look like they are all normal cobalt or sky blue (depending on the flash). I can't tell gender sorry - We need a clear photo of their cere from the front. That is the strangest breeding setup i have ever seen.... Is that some kind of plastic food container????
  22. I made that mistake about a month ago :hap: - Complete, and sudden seed mix change from Trill mix, to stock feed mix :hap: My birds didn't loose weight.... but they have all had a really bad moult becuase of it :hap: - I should have known better!!!! *** Smacks hand*** I have lots of pin cusions now... So yes, Always chage seed slowly!
  23. Awww... they are very cute earings The should do one as a male and the other as a hen hehehe
  24. WOW!!! that is really cool!!! I love the light switch covers.... VERY CREATIVE!!!!!
