  2. hehehe!!! That would be really cool to see
  3. "That sounds fantastic!" said Sam filled with excitement. "But how are we going to get there??"
  4. Sam gave a confused look. "You know the one, don't you?" Lara continued. " Green Cheese. It's right next to the planet 'French Fry' and just past the 'Milky-Shake Way'. " Sam, still confused, replied "What will we find when we get there?"
  5. ... if i can discover the Luna budgie that is rumored to live on the planet....
  6. I am so sorry for your losses Thank you for sharing this valuable information with us. All the best with getting your birds back into shape and winning trophies again :hap:

  9. the land, when
  10. the sky so...
  11. I have 3 inside too. 2 boys and a girl Mine are tame and come to me, sit on my shoulder etc. but they are not the lovely smoochy tame you get from having a solo budgie.
  12. I have a paved bottom. i have no troubles cleaning it As an after thought a drain would have been nice
  13. Hello and welcome Firstly... never believe what a petshop says. If they think that the budgie will not fly again after having a wing clip, then they definantly dont know how to sex baby budgies either hehehehe. 1. What are the negatives of introducing a new budgie? - Your current budgie will not bond as closely to you - Your current budgie will mimic speach less, if at all. Positives - Your current budgie wont be lonely when you are out/at work - You have twice the birds to love 2. Is there a quarantine period for introducing a new budgie; Is it best to have them in separate cages? - Quarantine is 30 days in seperate rooms, and being careful not to spread germs and dust from one bird to the other on clothing etc. 3. Do male and female budgies get along? - Yes, but i find the relationship between two males is less complicated as there is not breeding and hormonal female issues - yes it's the same with budgies hehehehe 4. Would a pecking order be established and is the female ususally dominant? - Pecking order is not too bad with budgies, but its always best to have at leat 2 feeding dishes at the same height, but in a different spot, so there are no fights over who eats first. 5. Will Smuggler still be able to talk if a new budgie is introduced? - He will be able to talk, but he probably wont if he is living with another bird. Talking comes from bonding, and if he bonds with a bird rather than you he will talk to his bird friend instead. 6. Do clipped wings grow back? I am under the impression from the lady at the pet shop that the budgie will never be able to fly, it will glide only. - Hhahaha, petshops are hopeless !!! Yes! the wing feathers will grow back when the new budgie goes through a moult and she will be able to fly
  14. Yes, he IS a boy
  15. I am so sorry How horrible!! I can't even begin to imagine how bad you must be feeling (((HUGS))) I hope he comes back. What is your area like?? Budgies call can be heard for quite a distance and a number of members have had lost budgies return up to 4 days after their escape. I really hope he hears his parents, and comes back for you. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. There is a lost and found section you could post in to. All the best. Keep us posted
  16. Hello and welcome Ennis is looking like some of the birds in my flock at the moment, they are a mess and it is due to a bad/heavy moult. Before not too long, you will find big spiky pin feathers coming though the bald patches. Some call it the "pin cushion effect" hehehe. They look really cute Moulting is highly stressful at best for a budgie. make she they have lots of fresh food and water. Don't let them get cold in a draft. You could even add some vitamins to their water to give them a boost though this tough time.
  17. RE: Your messy hen - Are the chicks messy too?? Is the mess a dark brown when wet??? Is it stuck to their beaks and feet etc?? It could be wet nest (tummy bug). If so, give basic seed and 20ml per L of water of (20% or more, pure ) Raspberry cordial, daily for a week. This should clear up any tummy bugs, and if its not a tummy bug, it wont do them any harm
  18. I grow seed for my budgies and they eat the entire lot in about 15 mins!!! hehehe perhaps yours dont like the pot?? i use a terracotta one
  19. I agree with Elly, Birds travel well. I flew a tiel from Adelaide to Melbourne a few weeks ago. From door to door he was in the freight box for 6-7 hours. He also did great :hap: (and loves his new home) I have not known someone to take their birds on a caravan holiday. I think as long as the cage is secure, not in any drafts, and possibly covered with a dark cloth while on the move, it will be okay. It depends on the extent of the traveling you are planning to do i guess.
  20. If any of my budgies nip, I gently stroke the sides of their beak with my thumb and index finger - They normally really like it and will stop nipping :hap: - It's a bit like a budgie kiss :hap:
  21. with orange flecks.
  22. Oh, the poor little babies I hope their feathers are going to regrow soon. I agree, breeding is all about acting fast and knowing what to do when a problem arises
  23. Yes...its a cinnamon violet or cobalt spangle It's very pretty.
  24. loads of expensive
  25. Your babies look gorgeous! Poor little plucked one i really hate it when birds get plucked, it breaks my heart -is it a spangle???
