If it goes on for a few minuets than its not a yawn. But yes its still normal. When my guys do it i give them a drink of water as i think they have a bit of feather or something stuck in their throat. I have also likened it to hick ups as it can be cured by distraction.

I love visitors!! It gets the house cleaning jucies pumping and everything always looks great remember that you always notice more dirt than a visitor will - I hope you all have a really great time!!!

After the passing of this hens "mate" I was just wondering if it's okay to give her a new man as she was not bonded in any way to her previous mate. I have this male who is a real "STUD MUFFIN" as he is the father of almost every previous chick i have His name is Pop. If and when i can put him with her??? Oh, and I have cleaned out the cage completely (just in case)

Soft food is everything you mentioned grated carrots, finely chopped vegies, soaked bread, boiled eggs, soaked seed etc etc etc

Becuase green is dominant over blue, a paring of a green bird to a blue bird will give all green birds but the babies will have the blue gene hidden for when they breed and could produce blue birds. You could get some blue birds if mum is split for blue too - i forgot to add that before

There are horrible places called budgie mills. where like puppy mills, the animals are bred to death with no care and purely for money - i dont want to see this happen to you. if you plan to sell to petshops you will only get about $2-5 per bird depending on colour If you plan to sell privately, than you will have advertising costs, and then a whole bunch of strangers calling you and traipsing through your home all the time. Personally I feel you have the wrong idea about breeding budgies WE ALL breed for love here! Not one of us make a cent from our birds. some of us may break even on good years, but otherwise its a hobby that costs a lot of money with lots of love as the gain. You are young and we dont hate you - we are nice people, promise We are only trying to help you and your budgies stay happy and healthy.
