  1. If House died i would ----> my fingers are so used to typing HOUSE from when i am doing my scripts So pleased we worked out the dead HORSE thing PS my hubby is a know everything kind of guy too - It gets frustrating at times but i love knowing things he doesn't I bet Dave doesnt know everything you know about budgies.
  2. Hello and welcome **PUTS HAND UP** I am a breeder in SA with hens on eggs will have babies ready to be homed in about 10 weeks or so which i know is probably too far away for what you are looking for. There are a number of us who breed here in SA - you came to the right place Also budgies from breeders like us come fully hand tamed and health assured. Budgies eat a quality budgie seed, veggies (not lettuce, cabbage or avocado) and fruits PS. Dont forget to set your gender in "my controls" - at the moment it says you are male, where i am assuming by your name you are female
  3. I was wondering about who won!!! WOOOO for all our gold medalist budgies
  4. Bub one and 2 look like spangles and 3 looks like a normal. bub number 1 looks like it will be a yellow face too - I cant see any colour so looks like they are all greys Very cute babies
  5. Show budgies and English budgies are one in the same
  6. LOL I don't know what to say to this, always knew that one was trouble you can tell from his eyes! Hiccups, really hiccups? OMG AV, babies get hickups in the womb all the time - can be felt from about 20 weeks - such a funny feeling

  8. Lots of time and patience He will come around, just keep being with him
  9. I cant find the other topic either. I'm not good with Aussie slang Dead house is tomato sauce which is Ketchup A dag is someone who looks or acts dumb
  10. YES so a normal vet said Will confirm this next week My local bird dealer said it penetrates the feathers too - I am sorry but i don't see how this is possible Feathers are like our hair, no blood supply once grown I have some feather mites on my birds and moxidectin (oral pesticide) didn't kill the mites that only feed on feather.
  11. Abby, my second needed forceps as she was coming forehead first - i was also as emergency C section and i kept blacking out with the epidural.
  12. Hello and welcome So pleased you like the forum If you have any questions check the FAQ and/or feel free to ask the forums
  13. ((((Hugs)))) It's aways a hard when dealing with a life. You did the right thing by the chick - poor little girl would have suffered if left.
  14. My first pregnancy was a breeze too - second wasn't too bad, but was SOOOOO tired and kept getting sick with no time to rest. I couldnt imagine how tired i would be if i was pregnant now. I still get up about 2 times a night with my current kids ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz What about your job? Are you planning to be a SAHM (stay at home mum) Is your house big enough? Child care costs? If you have a girl - they are A LOT more expensive What if the baby has a disability - how will that affect your family? In about 10 years you will become a TAXI service to 3 kids all wanting to go in different directions at the same time. Some 3rd babies are quiet and easy - others can be a nightmare, never sleeping and always crying etc!! I love pregnancy and newborn babies - i actually want to be a midwife. I am going back to school when the kids start school. It is so hard to decide for sure as there are so many variables to look into. If its what you want than do it - number 1 priority is you have to be happy with your choice

  17. Beautiful shots too :hap:
  18. ((((Hugs)))) I hope your baby makes it. I agree is a bit young to tell for sure, put i do see some pied markings too
  19. 2 kids is enough for me to handle!!!! I am NOTTTT having any more - EVER!! I barely have the patience for the ones i have so adding to them would send me ----> I am not a real "kiddy" person and was never going to have kids, it was only when i met my hubby that i said i would have some. I dont have much support from family as they are all in their 70's and don't have the stamina to look after two under 5's regularly. If it feels right by you and you have the time, money, support and patience, then go for it.
  20. underweight budgie is something you need to feel rather than see. You will feel a sharp breast bone with not much "meat" covering the ribbs. A nice layer of "meat" over the ribs is desirable and if the breast bone cant be felt at all then the budgie is over weight. An under weight budgie will also feel light in your hand. and the line you describe is seen in very underweight birds. If she is on chicks, give her millet in the box at all times so she and the chicks have food. You could also give some hulled oats in the box too. Make sure the male has lots of soft food every day as it is easier to eat and he can feed mum and the chicks a lot quicker.
  21. I agree, he is a complete spunk!! So pleased he is better
  22. Many budgies are attached to their cage, it is their home after all. Taking him well away from his cage while out allows him to focus on you rather than his cage - he will become more bonded to you in time too
  23. **Liv** replied to pixi's topic in What Sex Is My Budgie?
hehehe Tail length seems to change with the size of the budgie. it would be as hard as trying to tell gender of a human by the size of T-shirt they ware.
  24. The chick on the left looks to have different looking wing markings somehow They look darker and more full. - very nice
  25. Question 1) All my birds do it every now and then too - It normally happens during preening and personally i think it happens because they have something caught in their thoat - like a little bit of feather or feather sheath etc Question 2) When you take him out of his cage, cover it up or move it out of the room - out of sight, out of mind and he will be a lot happier with you
