Hello and welcome We are a specialised budgie forum, but there are a number of members here who have cockatoos and should be able to answer your question Cocky sounds lovely, even without "pants" - perhaps someone can knit him some

Would a plastic rubbish bin with lid be okay or will it need to be air tight?? I will open it up tomorrow and air some out ready to put in the boxes

Pine Shavings
I bought a large cube of compressed pine shavings today from the fodder store. Its about 10kg and now i am wondering how to store it as it will take me AGES to use it and when i open it it will expand out heaps - shame they didn't sell it in smaller sizes How do you keep your pine shavings clean and dry???

Thanks Pippi And Thanks Guys It is really exciting and the weather felt like it was going to blow our roof off this morning I love extreme weather! The bird room shuts tight so they have been dry and warm (unlike me who has had to run erinds all day ) Now I am just waiting on Lady to lay as i got an Egg from this pair today :nest:

I Need Help Asap
The thought of using fly spay around the tiny respiratory systems of budgies seems wrong to me. If i spray the room to kill flies or something i cover my face and run out of the room because its so strong and yucky - how can it be safe for birds :budgiedance:

My First Cabinet Pairs.
Lady has the HUUUUUUGE poos now, I have everything crossed she will take good care of eggs and chicks.... good thing i have 3 other foster parents to choose from just in case My Yellow DF spangle is still fine this morning. She mustn't have been stuck for too long. She has a small graze on her leg, but otherwise fine. Her mate is moulting though so bye bye nest box

Help Me Im Freaking Out!
Teflon??? or household chemicals, scented candles, incense, perfume, vinal, carpet, pain etc etc could have caused it.
-
No Luck?
To me the blue budgie on the right looks female Perhaps she is infertile, or like Kaz suggested, over age
-
No Luck?
I agree - double check the gender. budgies breed like rabbits if they get the chance, so having budgies with boxes for 3 years and not one egg is surprising.

What Am I ?
She looks like a yellow version on luisagol's hen.

Can You Help Me With Variety Please?
Could she be a Yellow Face grey/mauve cinnamon dilute?? cinnamon = 50% dilution of body colour Then dilute gene reduces body colour further....
