I dont know about the darker husks, but personally i would remove the mirror completely and not give it back.
  3. So pleased the bub was fed You can put some millet in the box for the hen to eat
  4. Oh No!!! Maesie I am so sorry Biggest hugest massive hugs.
  5. The average is about 5-7 eggs, but some lay as many as 9-10. they are all still laying so who knows how many are still to come :hap: The first pairs hen just laid her 4th egg. I really hope to see some veins soon as she is a really good mum

Yes - I would be very worried if anyone said they hadn't seen it :hap: Have you ever met a movie star?
  11. Awwwww! They are looking great! Thanks for the update - I always enjoy your photos
  12. WOW!!!! You two are having a great time!!! Thanks for the photos :hap:
  13. I fixed the image so you dont need to repost it :hap: Dad is a Yellow faced Albino who would be masking spangle. Some chicks are green and some look to be yellow face type 2. I would say your hen has a form of genetic missmatch or error which is where the green came from. True green (yellow based) feather on a blue (white based) bird is very unsusual and is only seen in halfsiders. The yellow faced chicks are like dad. Spangle markings also would come from dad. Hope that helps
  14. :hap: :hap: :hap: OMG!!!!!! Too #@%%$^%$%^& to comment further :fear
  15. I agree. Parents dont normally stop feeding a baby for no reason. you may find there is something wrong with it anyway - parents are very clever at seeing things we cant. I was shown how to crop feed at my local vet - next time you visit your vet ask them to show you too :hap: Kaz, I will get different gauge needles :hap:
  16. I bought a really bright, white LED key chain light today and candled all the eggs - I do it in the nest without touching or moving the eggs in any way. Total egg count and fertility so far is: 3 and one on the way - all seem clear so far :hap: -- i really hope this male is not sterile 3 eggs so far -- 1 showing veins 3 eggs so far -- 1 - 2 showing veins 2 eggs so far -- 1 showing veins 2 eggs so far - too early to tell nothing yet - Pop loves the hen, but the hen appears disinterested.
  17. *Hugs* I hope the little chick will be okay Great advice Kaz *runs out to shop and gets crop needle*
  18. My Friends son (almost 4) has just been diagnosed with aspergers. She was devastated at first, but now she is over the mood because she finally understands him. I agree, don't stress ((((Hugs))))) There are so many facilities and resources out there now for this recognised condition - you may even get money from the government each year because you will be his carer.
  19. What adorable photos! :hap:
  20. *HUGS* I hope you find out soon
  21. Biggest Hugs. I also fully suport which ever decision you make - either one you make will be just as tough as the other. Biggest hugs again and I am thinking of you Liv
