  2. You are a very clever lady Kaz!!! Trust the pet types to get into action before the show types This pair Are still doing nothing and i am considering aborting their attempt as he has started to moult and she got her leg caught in between one of the cage doors and spent god knows how long hanging upside down during the night : - i found her this morning and put her in the hospital cage for the day. her leg had a little blood, but seems in one piece. She scared me to death seing her hanging like that :
  3. Afternoon check and there is one egg each to these three pairs
  4. Can you please provide a picture of your cage and/or the dimensions overall. In regards to quarantine, your hen needs to be in a cage all on her own for 30 days and a mimimum of 5 meters away (or a different room) from other birds. It is always advised to worm and treat for mites in quarantine too. Also could you please provide a picture of your new hen. we should be able to see if she is old enough to breed as budgies look like adults from as young as 12 weeks old. She needs to be 12 months old to breed safely. By the way - Welcome to the forums
  5. I am so sorry Biggest (((((HUGS)))))))

Hello and welcome Your growing flock sounds lovely - becoming addicted to budgies is very easy. every pet store needs a warning sign "Beware of budgie addiction" :hap: I know its a little late now, but any new birds you get should be quarantined from other birds for 30 days minimum. We LOVE photos too
  7. poor boy. What a mess the mites have made. He looks like he will be a really handsome boy when his feathers come back healthy :hap:
  8. WOOOOOO!!!! Gotta love spring!!!! Hope it all goes well
  9. Are they all in one cage or in separate cages??
  10. No! I believe that a dot with veins IS Fertile!!!! congratulations She must be incubating overnight and hoping out the box each time you check her
  11. If you have washed it off and he HAS mites, i would give it to him again as he needs it.
  12. Hey neat, Is he okay?? What is the issue with the feathers?? I believe 2 drops is okay - you could always give him a bath and wash it off before it soaks in.
  13. Sorry I don't know the mean of TBC can you expalin please? A TCB = Texas Clear Body - sorry i typed it wrong before, i didn't mean "TBC"
  14. Looking good. Personally my suggestions are: 1: Put tin on 2 of the sides and the roof 2: Pave/cement the base and secure into position. 3: be careful of the door as they could easily fly out when its open
  15. Sorry you are feeling confused. A lot of us are good at genetics and telling the different budgie types and we are confused too. Your baby is a very unusual colour/type.

WOW!! Some great ideas - thanks guys I think i will start with the shinny paper, and work from there. I bet the kids would LOVE to build a scare crow

In the last 2 weeks, since i have put birds in my breeding room, i have a pair of crows that come and sit on the roof looking hungrily at the budgies inside - The birds are completely safe as there are wire mesh doors and no way the crows can get at the birds, but their presence puts my budgies on edge. They are starting on my aviary birds too who get terrified and flap frantically when ever the crows swoop by.... How can i get rid of these nasty black birds.
  19. About 2 - 4 depending on how much out of cage time they get
  20. Congratulations on your bubs!!!
  21. I ran out there just before to check. No eggs yet, but i see another egg bum, so maybe tomorrow *fingers crossed*
  22. Congratulations!! He is very handsome
  23. Why would you think TCB ? There are no wing markings. I see some light wing markings and no body colour, so i was just wondering if its possible its a TBC of some sort - don't mind me though, I'm having a blonde moment :hap:
  24. I am sorry they are sick :hap: "that" shop is a yucky place, but respiratory infections can pop up any where you buy them from Visit "that" shop on a Wednesday morning and you will see why i am sickened by it.
  25. Is there such thing as a YF cinnamon TCB???
