Here in the 500point state,we have,beginner,intermediate,open & champion. To be moved up to Champion status,you have to auumlate 60 points,in 3 years,then in champion you have 3years to acumlate 60 points & then each year after that,you drop off off the 1st years points,but still have to have to carry 60 points in to the next year. So you have to be on your game,to keep your points up

Heard that from a horses mouth or two That is something that happens,the buyers think the bird is going to go for to much & buy something else,rather then miss out all together & when the bird comes up,they have already spent there money & can not bd on the good bird & he goes at a cheaper price

That is true Kaz,Why do you think,they send there birds, to interstate Auctions,or put a price on them,so you can't afford to buy them.That is why I think,some birds are sold for over the top prices at the auctions.

Clearwing,What you say is so true.we have had people turn up & are all yap, they are going to do this & they would't do that.Blow hards, they last about 5 minites in the club.In all the years, I have been involved in Clubs, for 40 years & am life member of 3 of these clubs.So I have seen them come & I have seen a lot, that did't stay.In a lot of cases, the people,just find it to hard to handle,they want to be an overnight success & that is not going to happen.As for top breeders,not selling you there stock, thats there choice,you have to prove, that you can look after the birds & keep the standard up,you have to remeber,these breed have put a lot of time & money into being top breeders.Jo Blow turns up & says,they want to buy some of there birds, they say okay, take your pick out of that pen,they are $1000 or this pen they are $500 & you say what about, that pen & the breeders,says no they are not for sale,they are my breeders. In a lot of cases,the people who are complaining about top breeders not helping them or selling them birds. In most cases,have good cause to not sell them birds or help them,because they know, the person involved,will give it away,in a short time or fall by the way side.If you want to be actcepeted in a club,you have to do the time & show you are fair dinkum,help around the club & bring your bird & show them at the night shows,for a start.I could go on about.what is needed to be agood breeder & member,for another page.But it would be a waste of time in most cases.

I find it interesting,the talk about ,mateing up birds belonging to X blood line, Just because the are breed by Bill Smith,that might be as close,as they will be breed,the pair,could be a bird from Tom Jones & the other bird from Jack Hill, you buy a Bill Smith & there is no Bill Smith line in the birds at all,apart from being breed by him,you can buy birds but until you have bteed with them your self, for a season or 3 & breed your own line,you are just buying a bird you like the look of. :rofl:

Not many are true breeders,they are just,putting to birds together, & finishing up, with some chicks if they are lucky & then they sell them again if there lucky.

They may be stupid but they are no doubt,making money out of them,by all the people,who don't want to wiping up pooooooooooooooooooo

Try 2 years,it was back in August 2008.

There was a 2006 National bird,went to the bird dealer,with another 146 birds, from our club,on Monday night.Once they are past there use by date,they go.

Seeing as you would like to be a life saver of birds, You need to get yourself a crop neddle & learn how to use it, so the next time,you can, fill the crop with food & a light,that can be used as a heat sourse,to keep the birds warm, throught the night. :angel:

Yes I agree,with the 3 birds, on the bench,it might not look good for the weaker states,with there birds in 19,20 & 21st.But on the other hand.it might help them.strive for better birds.

I think you will find,that it was the case, last year.The bird belonged to a National judge, as well.

In the case of the Henry George bird,its 3 toes,were to the front of the perch. I did't notice the Campbell Birds.

Victoria out of the bocks,like a shot out of a gun, Sheppard & Flanagan,with very good birds, with other members,holding up in the minor classes, Will take a good efford,on the other states,to pull them, back tomorrow,It is very good that the results,are put all for all to see.

I would expect all of Victorian breeders,to show up for the Geelong National & all the other, states are welcome, It will be easy to get to,you can walk,train,bus,car & bike. A hop skip & jump,from all accomadation & the sea, for those who like the sea.

One reason may be, they are over feed & over weight,with a biuld up of fat, in & around the kidneys & liver.Just a thought. :ohmygod:
