A cotten bud,dose a good job,you could do a 100 birds,with only a cap full of ivomecton. Just hold the bird & run the cotten bud up under the feathers & onto the skin,

A Normal bird,with a spot on its head, is classed as a Dominant Pie. or Recessive pie & can only shown in those classes but no one would show them.

Just call it Dom Pie & leave it at that,when they have gone through the moult & the wings have grown back, put a picture up,just wait. :laughter:

I would't use that pair,they are each missing a leg. The judges will take to many points off for only one set of toes to front of the perch.

Good luck to you Ino, there is nothing like, aiming for the top. In the case of the $20 & $30 birds,its what in there background breeding. A lot of $20 & $30 birds,might not advance your breeding at all. Spangles,help in a lot of cases, with the recessive breeds.

The judge,did he ask for a second opinion,I would be doing as others have said, & mateing them to good normals,mating,greywing to greywing may be,the reason for them,being light in colour,but back to the normals,you may breed yourself a good family of Greywings, Not that they are not looking good now,will just darken them up that bit & you will have no problem in them being wrong classsed.

What proportion of water and glycerine macka I put about 10mls of glycerine in the spray bottle(warm water 500ml) & shake well,I spray on just enough for the birds to preen them selves .

I use a pump spray bottle,I have a metal cage, I put the birds in, then I spray them until they are soaked & then,if any are still dirty. I have a Shaveing brush & then lather the dirty feathers, I use Johnsons Baby shampoo. I don't wash the shampoo out, until I give them another wash with clean water, the next day. I start washing them on a Monday or Tuesday,depending on the weather. If it is winter time,I put the in the Incubator, with the door open,to dry them off. On Friday, I give them a spray of water & gliserine & they will look like a new pin on the Saturday or Sunday,for the show,

Try 2 days a week & plain water in the middle 3 days & ACV the other 2days. :rofl:

From photos I have seen of birds in the shows in WA, I think, some training in show prep,would help,in a lot of the cases. PS Nubby & you being a judge & you put that bird up in that state. But all can see what a wash will do & remove the extra spots, But you did leave a couple of bit black feathers in the mask.

no i beg to differ sorry mate all my grey birds bar two have the slateish blue as i call it and all but two are mauve or grey with violet inheritance i know violet = mauve but a grey bird is plainly just grey when the patches are grey i know this i know i seem a bit unknowable on this her sight but im not as dim as i sim i do say alot wrong her but i relize ive made a mistake and usually someone has come along and corected it so.. but i know that im right on this one it was not long ago that a breeder was in my aviry and mentioned to me that did i relize all my greys bar the two would more than likely produe violets or mauves we discussed this matter for awhile the end rezult being that most people did not know this and just classafied them as grey i understand im still going to be told im wrong but go for your life cause i know through the breeding of my bird from starting out with birds of no background history known and also no violet or mauve birds around to buy that i delved into my genetic knolage of inheratance and colour diffientiators to chose birds with my most best posable chance to achive my own violet birds and im telling you slatish purpulyblue cheek patches = mauve or violet inherated bird if breed right these birds produce the most beautiful of mauves and violets as they are not grey as i said you have 3 degrees of mauve as you do greys and blues and greens and other colour the first degree is a grey bird that looks to be with a blue sheen (blue grey ) yet apeirs to be grey well look at the cheek patches cause only grey has grey but we will probbly beg to differ on this macka as i will also probbly be told by others im wrong also it does not matter as i know what i do know is right although other things im sure im compleatly off bat with i was taught my true colour identafing skills through the patches and honestly i think all people should learn to identify colour this way as most people have birds with far more potential (colour wize) than they know GB are you questioning my answer.on the cheek patch.

Anyway more to the point, where did the judge,place it in the line up.

I would be checking,before you go to these sales,if you re looking to buy biird sundurys,not to many sales have any thing then Budgies for sale.

I did write a long story,about how I look after, my birds but I decided it was pointless. I have never used Doxy or any of the antibionic. Form the Vets.In the last 12 to 18 months I would of 3 birds unwell & they were removed,when I notice they looked fluffed up.This the end. PS The vets & the meds sellers love you all, but your birds if they could talk,would tell you to lay off all the drugs. :rofl:
