Thanks Nowbudgie,Iam glad some one has tryed,something I have surgested. It dose keep the nest box clean, & you only have to tip out the kitty litter, when its time is up.

The Kitty litter,will take care of the moisture. Now if you are feeding the parents moist food, then you will get wet dropings.If the nest box is big enough to take a 1ltr icecream container & kitty litter in the container. I would put that in the nest box & it will make it easyer to keep the nest clean.

If you want a pink Budgie,give it a bath in a mix of Rassberry cordial,you can have light pink,through to dark pink,its how much cordial you add to the water. :laughter: B)

Splatt I would of thought you would be in a area, were you would't need to take your keys out of your car, at home.I could think of nothing worse then losing the keys. so far,I have been lucky, as I don't have to remove the keys from the car when I come home,I am always misplacing my glasses & wallet, when I come home I place them up on the cupboard but that could be in any room I walk into. :rofl:

My seed mix,is 50% canary & a mix of millets & I put in some sunflower & groats & egg & biscuit mix & a cap full of breeders Vetafarm & a slice or 2 of muilty grain, through the mulcher.I have had no problem,with this mix.

One thing about the cooked perches,the birds can eat them & get there supply of charcoal.

I had a green hen,that had tail feather cyist. I tryed many different remidys,to no avail, that was back when I was starting out in the Budgie game.I binned her in the end & now if I get one,its in the bin.They are to much trouble.. In your case Splatt, you might be lucky,I have not seen one with the cyist on the corner of the eye.If it grows back in a short time,I would bin it.

there are pet shop birds & "pet shop birds" In splat's case it was probly brought at the local pet shop,where the breeders in her area,put a few birds in when they have to many of a particular colour or breed & are not your s==t cull,I know a breeder, that has a deal with bird buyer,if a certain breeder,brings birds in they are put out the back untill this bloke looks at them & picks any he think my breed him some thing.

What state is marked on the rings & the year & colour. All those answers may help,they may not be state rings,

I think it would be better,if you want to show a picture of a bird would be to put him in a cage & take a photo,then to have a picture of a bird in a vice like grip in the hand,only a surgestion

A candate for excapeing birds,no safty door. you have room to put a safty door in,even if it is only made out of shade cloth.

I agree with you ,they are very untidy in the feather, I am not sure,we could breed them, like that without importing in some birds,of that extra buff feather type. The other thing that struck me they did't seem very robust & they were siting on the floor & panting away & as for the standard,they are well past that,would have to change the standard.

GB I find your post a little confuseing, up until today.you was saying your birds were okay. now you are saying, they are not(some)well. I will say it again,not only you GB,but others, you are over medicating.If you have to use all these,treatments,there is something wrong. In my club,they stoped all these treatment thing, years ago & only treat on a need be but watch there birds,very closely & if some thing is looking a bit off colour,they may treat it or to the bin. I myself have not treated my birds,for 6 years for anything, other then worm them twice a year & I could count on one hand any birds that have died.I do put Apple Cider Vinagar in there water for 3 days a week, they get no soaked food * only soft food in the breeding season. Silver beet once a week,breeders & molting aid in there seed,in the season. I moved 20 of last seasons birds from one flight to another today & I culled one bird for a wing feather problem & the rest were in good condition. Its the same with Quantine,if I buy a bird it goes sraight in to a breeding box & wormed & nothing else,execpt one of my own birds in the cage with it for 3 to 6 months & they usely breed me a round or 2 of young ones. There is 4 of us breeders,we meet at one of our places,each Thursday & we decuss,the bird world & seeing *** Iam the only one with a computer, I tell them of the laughs of the week I have seen on the forum,with all this meds the birds,do not build up any amunitys, end of story.+

Some of the budgie breeders,would breed from 250 to 400 chicks a season,now would they be classed Bird Mill breeders.when I was in full swing,I was breeding 150 to 200 chicks a year, I only buy 50 rings a season now. But I have breed 150 pigeons,this season.

As Kaz said if you paid with paypal & it is the right order number,its on them to make good the order,there is a phone number for over seas callers to ring & talk to the man. Have you got the emails & PM they sent you,were they said the extra's would be in the parcel. I will say it again if the order number is correct they have to make good,get Ebay involved.

Richo put a good photo of your bird & you will be told if its any good,by the photo it not looking to good I like your sort of people, a blinker champion.
