  4. WOW - Did you get a cement layer to lay the slab or did you do it your self ?? I know the frustration about waiting and waiting to get things up and running I am still at a dead end with mine Best to double check about the budgies being so colse to the fence before it is all done other wise it will be more waiting .... Those breeding cages look unreal .. Best of luck with it all mate

I've noticed - Just the last couple of days that when a bird is stressed / Unsure they will sit like that as well ... Tail tucked under ... I agree with the everyone else unless is to pumping up and down along with breathing noises or difficulties it is NORMAL

Blood in the poo is not a good sign at all I am sure that the Vets will let you know what is going on - When there is Blood in the Poo there are a few reasons for this the most common is worms - Good luck

Hey all, Just wondering if vitamins which are found in fruit and Veggies do the same for birds as they do for us ????
  10. That is weird - Poor thing - I agree with Liv & Kaz ... See if you can add fake eggs for a while ( if his young produced were Nice ) otherwise early retirement as suggested
  11. Grit is a grey subject all budgie owners and breeders use it - ..... YES just read on before y'all jump the gun at me But there are actually two types of grit: soluble and insoluble. Soluble grit include cuttle bone, oyster shell, limestone, and gypsum. Soluble grit is dissolved by acids as it passes through the bird's digestive system, therefore there is little danger of it piling up in the digestive system or causing blockages, cause it dissolves.... it does little to aid in the digestion of whole seeds. It does, however, serve as a source of calcium and other minerals. Insoluble grit is mainly in the form of silica, ranging in size from sand to small pebbles. Insoluble grit remains in the gut / gizzard and is thought to aid in the breakdown of food. Yep Bet you didn't know that Birds have a muscular part of the stomach called the gizzard, which grinds and crushes food. The smaller part, are then more easily broken down by digestive enzymes as they go through the digestive tract. Some wild birds eat grit, which passes to the gizzard where it helps in this grinding process. It aids in removing the outer fibrous shell around some seeds (e.g.; sunflower seeds), if the shell was not removed with the beak prior to the seed being swallowed So technically we all use Grit by the good grit Milk - I haven't tried this - Been told that Budgies are lactose intolerant so if i was to use milk for a reason i would have chosen a soy or Non cow milk one .....

You are right guys!!!! How was I meant to know, I haven't had them before and these are new birds ( i've had red mites cause I didn't wash branches but not feather mites) I just feel bad But I am glad that I did a little research and have my BBC and friendly experienced Members to help me worth things out - I AM RELIEVED THAT IT ISN'T FM ..... okay, so i will go for 2.5 weeks and re spray them to be on the safe side - I can toss the perches out and replace as the gum tree has fallen down the back so i can reach the branches now .... Well at least Me and the Newbies now know what to look for
