20 Eggs
okay so I am a little 1. amused & 2. shocked at this. I have 2 hens down - and 20 eggs YES BUDGIES EGGS I had 3 down and well i had to foster her 2 eggs out. But Angle and my DF Dom pied were sitting on 9 eggs each - That is the highest amount of egg I have ever had WOOOO okay so they are now sitting 4 and 5 eggs - 9 were inferile ( or to young to tell) But either way I was not letting them raise more than i know they are capable of ( they both struggled with 5 babies their last round ( a few months back) Now I am not sure how this happen yes maybe cause it is there 2nd round, maybe because they had a HUGE break between clutches, maybe because I added the nest box and then let them be? There are too many changes that i made with these 2 but either way I am happy with the results I am looking forward to 2 either Yellows or greens maybe a Albino or a violet ) these are mybirds eggs Angels is a YF opalin Mauve and she is paired to a Mauve Normal DF is paird to a violet normal so would like to see the results If i have worked out my outcomes correctly i should have VIOLETS ALL ROUND! apart from the 2 fostered :D

Paediatrician Visit
Deb at least you got some answers mate:D I don't know what to say- sorry doesn't seem right as it isn't yours or your sons fault, and congrats doesn't seem right either, I didn't know what it is , so i just googled it Dave is right ( not that i didn't believe him) it is very common and estimated that only 50 percent of children are diagnosed before kindergarten. So please don't take this post the wrong way, i just don't know if i say the right things at the right time , you know what i mean .... Maybe i shouldn't say anything - But BIGGGG HUGSSSS and I will give you a BEAR HUG on Monday

To Show Or Not To Show?
Ahhh Catintheht - I have just started my journey into the show world ( bought 2 ) But i am serious about breeding them and hopefully having the right amount of features to be able to get to the bench Budgie clubs aren't just boy clubs LOL they have us girls in them too :hap: :hap: :hap: IT is a great way to gain information and get a feel for that side of the hobby I agree with what you say about some of the show budgies not attractive - but once you start learning about why they breed them and how to breed good quality you soo stop seeing the bird as a mutation and colour you see it as size ... Size in the head, body and Feather ... ( wow I have learnt thing ) There are clubs in NSW that welcome new members or people that would like a sticky beak :hap: Here --->is the link for BUDGIE CLUBS IN NSW I am sure there will be something that is close enough for you Good luck and Enjoy ...

Advice Again Please
Sw - I tried scratching and wiping feathers - it is inside the MIDDLE of the quill, and that is okay i only had Cherokee for a short while :hap: okay so, TODAY WAS adventurous ..... I cam home and Memphis had broken a blood feather - Yep blood all on his wing :hap: So switched into Auto pilot, I went straight to the pantry got the white pepper out and straight outside and grabbed the tweezers ( which was weird as i have been looking for them for 3 days ) Got a white table cloth thing out - Got him out - located the feather and pulled it out ... Check his other ones ... his tail feather ( the one that had the marks on it ) had fallen out and MAN There are 100's of new feathers coming up His tail is getting a heap of long pin feathers and so is is head and at the back where he is / was bald His cere is still slightly stained with no discharge from the nostrils But he did make a clicking sound when he was in my hands, just the 2 second click that was it along with heavy breathing - so i rang the vet back up to confirm that it is an avain vet! that my appointment is under as i am now wanting more tests done .... Yes it is :hap: :hap: Soooo I just got of the phone to the person that i got the birds from - to save confusion i will call him MR A ( ) Mr A thanked me for letting him know of my concerns and we talked for the last hour. The birds that I bought from him were from a now ex Show breeder - MR B MR A said that it could be the a molt but hoped that it isn't anything else, I told him that i would let him know of the vet result on Tuesday. While i was talking to MR A , I ask him 1. What the birds were feed 2. How was water offered to them He replied with that MR B is a bushy ( lol ) and wasn't real keen on the soft foods (hence this birds taking so long to accept it) basically they were feed seeds, grit and egg and biscuit mixes. Water was given to birds by the water tube - ( I haven't once seen these birds drink, the water container is always clean and free of poo and husk huh.gif ) and they didn't even bath in to when it was 35 degrees .... So i know have a history of the birds, as little as it is but a history none the less .... I have a little glimmer of hope now

Advice Again Please
I can't wait till Tuesday - it is killing me ... My face is sore because i am refusing to cry ( as dave will say "its only a bird) But it isn't lasting long .... However a few breeders have suggested that it may be quill mites & possible FM ( which i thought it was at first) He now has staining above his cere I am hoping it is from the carrots .... THIS IS BOLLOCKS, no wonder why i haven't bought a bird in ages!!!!!!!!!
