  6. If Smudge is 3 months old could be going thru a molt ...which can put Physicalstrain on he organism ( which is why during the molt they should get Lots of Nutritious foods ( greens , fruit and veg some add mulit vits ) and should b kept warm .... When birds are molting they tend to peck and scratch etc teir fleathers more then normal ( Different from Preening them selves).... Re homing can also brin out stree in a bird
  7. Welcome Fae, ( the only person I know that spells Fairy correct (Laughing out loud) ) anyways .... Cage is Great Nice and roomy .... there are ways of persuading land lords ( box of chocolates, Fav bottle of grog  (Laughing out loud) ) I too think that you should start of with 2 babies if you are not home often as a bird can die of boredom.. Plenty of toys and free fly time .... like the others have said Budgie are ADDICTIVE I start with 2 1 year later i house 20 .. Good luck withyour hunt forthe right bird/s and best of luck with the landlord :(Laughing out loud):

Most females are Biters rather then talkers .... YOu have been given a vast range of advice and I too agree that NOT ALL BIRDS BREED WITHOUT A NEST BOX ... There are a few more places too that I quickly found when i searched on line .. .Western Aviaries http://www.petlink.com.au/Classifieds/Bird...s_and_Supplies/ http://www.aussieweb.com.au/directory/dire...3&lid=50028 http://melbourne.zpages.com.au/stores-and-supplies/ Hope this helps and you get your aviary ... If you can not start with a cement floor try pavers a bit tricky with the gaps though as it tends to get cloged My first avairy I used a hard wood floor eay to hose and scrap any messes up ....
