  1. FAR OUT !!!! Thanks Heaps Daz I am sending link to Missylu
  2. Thanks Daz .... I thought Fallows were Red ???I always have to pick the stange ones WHOOO HOOOO I DID IT I DID IT YEAH YEAH  Recessive PiedRecessive pied budgies have, in general, mostly clear feathers on all areas except the rump, which remains the original body color. In general there is a patch of normally colored body feathers near the bottom of the belly, with the rest of the body feathers being clear. Where there are marked feathers on the wings, these feathers are half clear near the top. The wings can have anywhere from a lot to very little marked feathers. The feathers on the head are mostly clear except sometimes for patches near the eyes and top of the head. The recessive pied budgie's eyes are dark plum colored and never lighten with age; they always stay dark. This is how you can be sure a pied is recessive pied, since the dominant pied's eyes lighten normally with maturity. The cere of the male recessive pied also does not change normally. Adult male recessive pieds have purple ceres. Adult female recessive pieds have the normal white/tan/brown ceres. HE IS A REC PIE Thanks Norm ... I was searching as He is ALL WHITE no other marknigs etc anywhere BUT HIS RUMP which is sky blue ... I have Margoo who is like him But his Blue is just noticable and he has very pale wing markings ..... I think it is a rec pied too ... Didn't think it was DEC as Eyes are PLUM Not red or Black so this has to be it ...... SUFFSION ????

  6. Hey Dave ... WOW What a Journey you have had ... I too just re read from start to finished And I was sitting on the edge of my seat .... It's fantastic that they are growning so well .... I am sorry for your losses along the way. I too just lost 4 from a clutch As Kaz mention Hen braking a neck whilst feeding This happend with one and the others were little ones, as written in one of my post I discovered that I had red mites ( 2 -3 ) in this nest box When i spoke to my Avian vet he advised me that this could be a cause to the deaths of the young ones as their crops were full and no other illness This was from an experienced pair with 4 clutches ... I wish you and all the little ones the best of luck and a happy future please don't let this second guess you as a breeder ....

  21. In order to help while it is undergoing the moult, you should let it sleep as much as it wants. The older the bird is, the moodier and more unbalanced it becomes during the moult. Their body needs much energy in order to build up the new feathers. Therefore it is important to provide healthy fresh food like fruits or vegetable. Salad cucumber for example contains a lot of minerals which the birds need during the moult, also sprouted wheat is a recommended food.

  24. Norm I 'still can not tell the difference between the dusks
  25. If possible try and seperate them for a while But have them where they can still see each other( even though you didn't quarrentine * Quarrentine also means seperate rooms ) This will give Kazoo time to adjust and still see her friend with out constantly being hit on .... and she won't have to stress out
