Thanks guys!! I have a LOOOONNNNNNGGGG wait now til the book comes out. But maybe we will have to get some of our friends in the US to get copies for us. I still haven't gotton any pics from the shoot so as soon as I do I will post them. Its now Chucky the DIVA!!! She is soooo demanding :fear

Well Chucky had the big shoot on friday. The photographer and editors turned up at 9.30 and started to discuss what was needed. And they had to rearrange my lounge to get the right light. They went through the book explaining what Chucky would need to do for each page of the book. ( I was really nervous as Chucky usually just does what she wants to do) At first she sat on her gym and they took pics of her just sitting there. This was for the front cover and the inside cover page. She was obsessed with the camera and kept jumping onto the long lens! It was really cute! She was really exploring over this new thing she had never seen before. She got bored of that soon enough and ignored the camera. Next she had to fly. Do you think the little bugger would!!! hehe She didn't feel like it. We put her high on the tv hoping she would fly to her cage but no she just flew to the floor! But thats okay I think they got a shot any way. For one of the shots it required Chucky to sit on the edge of the cage door. Something she does when she gets out of her big cage. So with a bit of persistance and putting her in the cage a few times she got the idea and just sat on the edge. Very cute and clever!! Then they set up the food on the table near the cage. Some apple diced, a punnet of alfalfa and some bird seed and water and they wanted Chucky to eat!! No worries there with all the flying she had done she was starving! She stood with one foot on the apple and the other on the alfalfa and I know she was thinking 'mine all mine' heheh The shots were really cute!! Lastly she had to sit on the swing and look at herself in the mirror. It was hard to get the shot through the bars of the cage so they took the roof off and I held the swing on the end of a coat hanger. It took a while for Chucky to sit on the swing. She just didn't like it and kept climbing up the side. She didn't want to even look at herself in the mirror!! After a long day and lots of photos (and chasing Chucky) they got what they needed. The book doesn't come out until september and will be aimed at the U.S market. It is called 'Pet Budgies' or a title similar. After they all left about 3pm, Chucky went straight to her cage and was asleep before I could even leave the house to get to work. I felt as though I needed a sleep too!!! The editor said she was going to send me some pics so when I get them I will post them on the board for you all to see. From what I saw on the camera, they looked really cute. I am very proud of my Chucky and I just can't wait to see the book!!

I think the budgies turbs is talking about are what you would call 'wild' budgies. My friends dad told me that they can be hard to get 'pure bred' as they have been bred with 'pet' budgies. I must get a picture of them to show.

My friends dad breeds them, but I have not seen them yet, actually I am not sure I have ever seen a true bush budgie

Last year the editor put a message on the board here. Chucky was just lucky enough to be chosen because she was green and yellow. If it didn't matter what colour the bird was I am sure Riebie's Bobby would have been chosen afterall he is a handsome little fella!!
