I bought a second aviary and set it up on the grass in the back yard and I had nothing but problems with mice. Their tunnels would make great holes in the floor. Also after a while the grass died off maybe due to lack of sun? and all I ended up with was a muddy mess. On colony breeding....I have tried both. I used breeding cages and my birds would not breed. I then put the nest boxes into the aviary and they bred successfully the first time. But i know each bird is different and many people have problems with this. Maybe I am just one of the lucky ones. Oh yeah and welcome to the forum

He is such a spunk!!! He will be missing his friend but budgies are tough little critters and he will get through his loss just like you lovey. You have each other.

This is shocking news. I am in total disbelief. My sympathy goes out to you lovey and your family. It is such a tragic loss and I am truly sorry. Hugs to you all. He was such a special little guy who we all grew to love. He will be missed. Rip little guy its your time to fly free!! :rip:

Phoebe is not a creamino as her eyes are black. She is a double factor bla bla haha I can't remember. But she is gorgeous. You just wanna pick both of them up and give them big cuddly hugs :hap:

She loves to sit and climb up the 'tree' (thats what we call the spiral of little branches) I woke her up at midnight the first night I got it and put her on the top perch and she couldn't quite work out how to climb down. It was really cute, you could see the thought process. All in all with 2 and a half birds inside most of the time. ( Clancy the IRN is slowly and I say very slowly coming around, she doesn't bite my fingers off much any more, still won't come near me tho and will only sit on the gym for minutes) GRRR Anyways she loves it between her and Chloe they are on it most of the time. The supergym has feed cups and chewy toys and it keeps them occupied. I believe it was the best birdie investment I have made. :hap:

gEEZ I can't remember how old exactly (okay I'm a bad mumma) hahaha They are about the same age, came out of their nests the same day. I would say about 8 weeks.

Here are a few pics I took of Chucky on the supergym. She is going through a heavy moult at the moment and is such a grump. Poor baby Go away I'm having a nap!!! I'm not gonna pose for you!! okay maybe just a little Crikey Chuck its a croc!!!!

Stubby has been totally obessed for the last couple of weeks. He has a mirror on the back of his cage at perch height and constantly 'bonks' it. Its the funniest thing because he hold his morror with one foot and kisses all over the mirror while umm "bonking the perch. Honestly he nearly knocks the cage off the stand sometimes. Poor Chucky thinks he is gross and often goes up and bites him when he is doing this. It doesn't stop him tho. We bought this new mirror for him on the weekend and here he is just sussing it out. As you can see Chucky is not too impressed by this and gives Stubby a greasy.

This is Phoebe. (a girl I hope) She was getting picked on by her brother and he had chased her behind the breeding box and she got stuck and hurt her little wing. Mum had to get in the aviary to rescue her. (something mum doesn't like to do) She is okay now just a little mark which is getting better every day. This is Samson. He is such a cutie. No interesting story to tell about him haha Just that he is a lil spunk
