Awwww they are all soooo adorable. Just a question. Obviously it has to do with genes and colouration but why are some bubs beaks black and others yellow? Which colours would have the dark beak? That last picture is too cute, its like he is saying "look at my fat bolly!!!" hahah

This is such sad news and I'm really sorry to hear this. It doesn't matter how long you have birds for, to me the minute you see them in the shop its love at first sight. I have a special budgie who had/has a reoccurring pssitacosis and was advised by my vet even after her meds she should be quarintined just to be safe. Sadly she lives a happy but solitary life. It make me sad to think that she is all alone but I don't know what else to do. She has her toys and her mirror and tweets away happily. It still hurts me. Its tough but they are heaps better off with you. They are lucky to have someone who cares and who will love them. :hap:

How scary. Maybe you will need to look into getting a thicker mesh or shade cloth for around your avairy for safety. You don't want that big scary bird have budgie for lunch!!!

A few members will probably remember Gloria. She was my budgie who developed a lump near her vent. I panicked and thought she was egg bound. I rushed her to the vet and actually found out she had a hernia. As unbelievable as it sounds. The vet said she was not in any pain she just had a big bum. There was nothing the vet could do and I was told she could live for 2 months or two years. Unfortunately she only lived for about 6months after that. So get your bird checked out so you know whats wrong and it can help you prepare for the worst if need be. Good luck and look forward to finding out what it is.

Chucky is my indoor budgie, she is clipped. This is for 2 reasons. 1 we lost our first budgie buddy because we didn't clip his wings. He was very tame but one day just took off and before we knew it he was out the back door never to be seen again. It tore my heart out and I cried constantly for a week. I had to have a week off work. I never want to feel like that again. Our house unfortunately does not have security doors and accidents happen. And the second reason is for safety as other members have said. We have open rooms, none really suitable for free flight. It would just be too dangerous for her.

I'm really lucky they all get on well. Chloe is still unsure of the big yellow bird She hisses at him when he gets too close. Stubby and Chucky just ignore him. Theres only one problem with Clancy on the supergym!! For some reason does not like the food cup where I put it , he is forever pushing it off its little spot spilling seed everywhere!! He also loves the big dangly cuddly groomy toy. He grabs it with his BIIGG claws and then tries to catch it with his beak. Very funny when it hits him and he make an angry IRN noise at it.

Chucky and Stubby go to bed about 9-10 most nights but they get to stay up later on weekends :ausb: Chloe the tiel needs to go to bed about 8pm or she gets soooooo grumpy.

I love how fizzy has that royal blue colouring over the back of his neck just like my Stubby. I haven't tried mine on bok choy. Celery is a fave at the moment they won't touch anything but that. I put out carrot and brocolli witht the celery last week and only the celery dissapeared. :0
