Where has she become 'plump'? My budgie Gloria (RIP) had a hernia which caused a large lump near her bottom. I thought she was egg bound but when I took her to an avian vet the hernia was found. So just get her checked out to be certain. If you need help finding a vet in your area let us know cos we can help.

Hheeh Don't worry guys I will let you all know what it is called and when it is available as soon as I find out!! I will arrange an autograph signing for her too hahah The book is a kids book on how to care for your pet budgie. Thats pretty much all I know. I'll keep you all posted.

Last year Chucky was chosen to be photographed for a book. Just thought I would let you all know what is happening. Last week I was sent the book description and what would be expected of lil Chuck. Things like eating, sleeping, sitting on a perch and flying around the room etc. The photographer and the editor are coming to my house thursday for the big shoot!!! I am sooo excited. I am hoping Chucky will act like the little angel she wants to be Usually the cheekiness wins!! She will be getting a good bath so her feathers are sparkly clean!!! She just finished moulting too so her feathers are new and bright!! I will try a take some photos on the day when the photographer is taking his/hers. eeeekkk sooooo excited!!! Oh my god I can't believe it I am soooooo excited!!! All my friends at work think I am nuts coz I just ran thru the factory saying " my birds gonna be a star, my Chucky is gonna be a book star!!!" I didn't know this til now because I been blocked!!! But oh my god I am sooooo excited!!!! I hope there is a sequel riebie so we can get together one day!! *faints with excitement*

A burglar has just made it into the house he's intending to ransack, and he's looking around for stuff to steal. All of a sudden, a little voice pipes up "I can see you, and so can Jesus!" Startled, the burglar looks around the room. No-one there at all, so he goes back to his business. "I can see you, and so can Jesus!" The burglar jumps again, and takes a longer look around the room. Over in the corner by the window, almost obscured by curtains, is a cage in which sits a budgie, who pipes up again "I can see you, and so can Jesus!" "So what", says the burglar, "You're only a budgie!" To which the budgie replies "Maybe, but Jesus is a Rottweiler!" Two newies walk into a pet store and say "We'd like four budgies, please." "Certainly," answers the salesman,"Would you like two males and two females, or four males, or four females?" They reply, "We don't care, just give us four budgies, alright!" So the salesman puts 4 budgies in a box and the men carry them out of the pet store. They drive to a tall, steep, cliff. The first guy pulls two budgies out of the box and holds one in each hand. He walks to the edge of the cliff and jumps off. His friend watches him fall down as he reaches the bottom and splatters on the rocks below. "Gee," he says, "this budgie jumping isn't all it's cracked up to be." A man who had recently bought a female budgie with a salty vocabulary got a call from his minister telling him that he was planning to stop by the following week. Worried about the bird's language, he called a friend who had two well behaved male birds. One recited the Lord's prayer, while the other held a rosary in it's claws and repeated Hail Marys. "Would it be okay if I brought my bird over for a few days?" the man asked his buddy. "Maybe my budgie will pick up some good habits from yours." The friend agreed, so the man took his female budgie over and put her in the cagenext to that of the two devout males. Suddenly, the first male budgie stopped praying and turned to the other. "You can knock it off now," he said. "We got what we were praying for." When your pet budgie sees you reading the newspaper, does he wonder why you're just sitting there, staring at carpeting? Q: What do you give a sick Budgie ? A: Tweetment !! Q: Where does a 500lb Budgie sit ? A: Anywhere it wants !! Hahah thses were just a few that made me chuckle :ausb:

You should get the bird to an avian vet for a proper check up. If you are not sure of one in your area we can help you find one.

Thanks guys!! It brings a tear to my eye everytime I think of how bad his injury was and then to think he survived it and came through with flying colours!!! He was such a fighter!!!

Chloe my tiel lives in her own cage but when she comes inside she plays with Chucky. Chucky has even started making the tiel whistle. Usually they sit on the birdy gym and sleep or share a seed block!! The other week they woke up at the same time yawned at the same time and then did the bird leg stretch thing. It was soooo cute!!! Totally in sync with each other!! When Chloe came to us she was a little intimidated by Chucky who can be a real bully when she wants to be but as they got to know each other they have become great pals. But this is just my story and my birds. And as said earlier each bird is different.

I GOT THE BEST NEWS!!!!! IT MADE MY DAY!!!! Well it has been a while since the accident with Ice happened but out of the blue the vet called today to tell me how little Ice is getting on. She told me that she thought they lost him on the operating table because he took a long time to come to. He was very sorry for himself for a couple of days and the anti-biotic injections twice a day were making him very grumpy!! Slowly he started eating normally and he even escaped from his cage and took off around the room a couple of times making all the staff chase him!! The wound came open a couple of times and she had to 'glue' him back together. She said he now looks like a monk!!!! His feathers will not grow back on his head and he will be a little baldy for the rest of his life. So all in all budgies are a little more resilient at times than we all think. Anyway a vet assistant has given Ice to her younger brother who desperately wanted a bird for christmas. He renamed him Sam and wants to get him a friend when he recovers a bit more. He still has a check up a few times a week. I'm thinking of offering Candy to him since they were already bonded. I'll see if the vet thinks this would be a good idea. So I am really happy that the vet called and let me know what happened. I would highly recommend her to anyone in my area. She is a lovely caring lady who cared for me (i'm such a sook when it comes to sick animals) and my bird. Did I say made my day? I think it made my year!!!!!!!
