I just went outside to check Wednesday (mavs girl) and to my suprise there was an EGG!!! She had just layed it as it was still wet. I am trying not to get excited but its hard not to think that maybe there will be a mav 2. I'm not sure if wednesday can cope on her own. I dont have another mum to put the egg with. I will do all I can but some advice would be great. What a day.

Thank you bubbles I have printed your advice and I will definately keep it for future reference. Unfortunately Maverick has gone. I felt so helpless. I couldn't get to the vet but I also knew in my heart that it was too late, he was too weak. I tried to give him some water thru a syringe and keep him warm. I have buried him under the new tree with Gloria who left me 2 weeks ago. They were mates so they can fly together and hopefully watch over me and the flock. I have this awesome little video of Mav that I would love averyone to see, but its just too hard yet. I will post it soon. Thanks everyone who sent me their wishes its great so know that you all care. Here is My precious Mav.

Apart from him sitting in the bottom of the cage the only other symptom he has is runny brownish poo.

the hardest thing is he was fine yesterday. this is such a shock. thru tears i told him it was okay to leave but he is holding on. i don't want him to suffer any more. i love my budgies but why do i have to lose them so soon. thats 2 in about 2 weeks now. He is sitting on my bed i his box with my electric balnket on. Hopefully some of the warnth will come thru. I always find it easy to talk here. I think its coz you all understandhow I am feeling. so thanks soo so much

my maverick is dyig.The vet caot see him but i know it is too late. i can't find a hot water bottle or wheat bag so how can i keep him warm. he is cradled in my arm now and content

He is soooo cute. I know exactly what your saying Bea. I would be lost without my lil feathered friends. All day Chucky sits on my shoulder. She has to share my shoulder now since I got chloe but she is there all the time. She is out of her cage most of the day coz I don't start work til mid afternoon! Nearly 2 years ago I got my first ever budgie. His name was buddy and he spoke about 50 words. Sometimes it was like he could carry a conversation with me. His favourite words were bulls**t and big brudda( thats how he would say it) Once he said 'Come here beautiful and give us a kiss! It melt my heart. He flew out our open door one afternoon and that was the last I saw of him. I had 4 days off work and I cried the whole time. Everyone was like "its a bird" But he was my best friend and I'll never ever forget him. I still think of him everyday. It is truly amazing how an animal so small and considered not a 'real' pet by so many can touch us in a way that no other pet has touched me before. Bea you made me cry thinking about that!!! hahah

Yeah I have thought about that too!! When I went to that budgie show I noticed that the only pieds there were really weirdly patterned or really colourful. What catergory do pieds come into at a budgie show? What is the most popular mutation entered in a show?

I cleaned out the aviary yesterday and I took the camera in with me hoping i would get some good shots. You just never know when your birds are gonna do something interesting or funny. Mine did nothing out of the ordinary but here are some pics anyway!!
