They are really cute!! What are their names?

I read somewhere you could do something with egg shells and they are good for your budgies? Is this correct and if so what do you do to the egg shells before giving them to your budgies? I know its vague but I'm sure I heard something At work I use a dozen or so a night thats why I am asking :hap:

I am so sorry for all of you!! I went through this only last friday and even though I have had a few losses lately it just doesn't get any easier. Hugs to all of you and just think our babies might meet up in budgie heaven!!

Thanks guys! The Vet said I would have to completely surrender Ice to her. I could probably ring and find out what happened but I just want to think that he has gone to a good home and someone who will care for and love him just like I did. As for Candy I moved her into my other aviary and naughty parsley and her partner are going into a breeding box as we speak because that is what caused the problem in the first place. So I will keep you all updated on My naughty budgie and poor little Candy.

hey all. I have had a **** afternoon!! I went out to take pics of my gorgeous budgies when to my shock Ice had absolutley no feathers on top of his head and blood had stained his white feathers. He and his partner Candy have eggs in a nest box in the aviary. I took him out and bathed his head in antiseptic solution and to my horror the wound went all the way to his tiny skull. I took him to the vet right away along with Candy because I noticed she had a few feathers missing from her head too. I am such a sook I cried nearly the whole time at the vets. The poor Vet must have thought I was a real fruitloop. Anyway she told me he would need surgery and it would cost $260 and she said that he wasn't guarateed to pull through. I was devasted but she then said how she was looking for a pet budgie and if it was okay with me she would do the operation herself and keep him as a pet afterwards, if he was lucky enough to pull through. It was a tough decision to make but I left him there knowing she would take great care of him and do what she thought was best. I think she is a great caring and compassionate woman and I thank her very much. All the way home I was trying to think of a way to cover the aviary to protect my babies from the wild birds. When I came home I thought I would return Candy to her eggs when I found out exactly what happened. As soon as Candy flew to her nest box Parsley flew in after her and started to attack her. I think Ice was injured trying to save Candy from being attacked. He was trying to save his lady. A true little hero. I took Candy from the aviary along with her nest box and put her in a separate cage. I don't know what to do with her now tho. But what should I do with Parsley, I don't want her to attack any other birds. Should I put her and her partner in a seperate cage with a nest box and put Candy back into the aviary so she is not alone? What a nasty little Parsley.

They are all soooo gorgeous!!!

I will definately get some more pics today. I didn't want to scare her too much as this was the 3rd cage she had been in, in a week. Our breeder friend got her from his friend in the country, then she was with him for a few days before she finally came to live with me. She is such a sweetie, just going through her first moult too so a lil bit scruffy. I have been waiting months for her. No one wanted to part with her. Cookie was bred by a man whos last name was cook. So the breeder we got him from said "call him Cookie" so we did. Its a whole lot better than Boofhead, cos thats what I was gonna call him. :rip: I'll post more pics here later.
