How Many Times Do You Try A Cock?
Before you put them down next time cut the feathers away from the vent(bum)- you can leave the fluffy ones so its not completely bare if you like. Some birds that have a lot of feathering can have the feathers get in the way when mating. Do this with male and female.

My Aviary....start To Finish
Yay- should all be done by the time I get my bum down there to say hello. (and fill shirt up with feathered things!!) I reckon I could survive for a year on the amount of doves we get at home, they are worse than mice at the speed their population grows and hangs around the aviary!!

How Many Times Do You Try A Cock?
Have they bonded and mated with clear eggs or nothing at all? I have a couple of males that just arent interested in the hens available, then one old show boy I have had for years decided last year to pair up and have a clutch. Some of the harder ones need a good lead up to the breeding season with heaps of soft food, vitamins, branches and soaked seed to get them really fired up. I think some of them just dont like rejections by the hen either so they stop trying.

Gorgeous Lutino's
awww looking good. Mine are still in that funny pink stage, cant wait for feathers

Violets?
Hopefully the bird is split Ino so you can get albino or lutino birds, otherwise you may not. Good luck. (got any pics of him?) :rip:
-
Violets?
Are your lutino's girls or boys? Depending on whether their parents were green(yellow) or blue (white) birds would depend on whther they could have albino babies or not. To get creamino you will need a bird that is yellowface blue and also ino or split ino (albino). Best bet is to pair to an albino or a blue bird that is split ino.

Gorgeous Lutino's
Cant wait to see them feather up-gotta love lutes!! I can see the red eyes. Bit like the old cuckoo bird laying an egg in the nest of a wren or something- I remember seeing a picture years ago of this tiny little mum with this gigantuous baby that took up the whole nest!!

Surprise Hatching
Congrats- he does look a chunky little fella!!!

Pygmy Bugie
I have had wild ones in my hand and they were bigger than my small mongrel-bred pet birds, you'd be better off breeding the smaller pet ones together.
-
Pygmy Bugie
Some of the inbred budgies you see at backyard breeders are tiny little things. But wild budgies arent that small- not the ones I have seen, just your average pet budgie size, I have budgies here smaller than a wild one
