  1. Well done, I was wondering where you were the other day and the next day you had surfaced again!! Gorgeous baby.
  2. Lookin good. I did the same today- we went and had a look at a farm for sale about 4 hrs away and loaded the back of the ute on the way home with fresh wheat and oats for the birds from the paddock. We only got home an hour ago so they will get it tomorrow.
  3. I am highly allergic- being in a cat household would set me off yep I could tell you whether a house had a cat within 10 minutes lol!! (sneezing, itching, red marks, swollen throat/hard to breath, watering/swollen eyes, etc etc you know the story) Mum fell in love with a white kitten at the petshop and we got it and dealt with the allergies, within 2 weeks I was okay with it but still allergic to all other cats. (used to wash it a bit- not sure if that had any effect on it?)

ground meat, mashed vegies, protein in whatever form. All my life on the farm crows were the enemy, now I have a baby crow mum and dad are still around and they sit in the tree out the back and chat to him every morning so I know next week when he s released he will be looked after still, we have him until he gets enough feathers to fly- between the butcher birds and the blackfella kids in the street he didnt stand a chance without those flights He gets ground meat and chunks of meat, ground meat mixed with mash pumpkin, vegies, mashed egg- this I mix all together and roll into edible size balls/pieces. He also gets some soaked dog biscuits to pick at in between.
  5. Little pied chick feathering up okay, looks just like its mum- down to the straight even belly band.(mmm photos never do them justice lol) and foster brother- flat out like a lizard drinking! (I was hoping to get some lutes from this pairing- Lute x light green but got 3 green boys Little chick I rung at 4-5 days is growing well, looks like a baby weiro as he has good long pin feathers on his head- is a green. next chick in the nest I think will be a grey but I'm not sure all I know is the pin feathers dont have a touch of yellow yet and grey is more likely than blue. 3rd one no idea! Looking forward to that nest though. Couple of pairs on eggs and another 3 just paired the last few days.
  6. Absolute crackers Kaz- you gotta be happy with them, they look fantastic
  7. Hugs Maes..thinking of you, you'll get there but its a road not fun to travel. Kaz- have been to 3 funerals of people close to me this year and that was a poem that was read- it made me all goosey again.
  8. YEsterday. When was the last time you danced
  9. Wow Libs- gotta be happy with them hey. Door to door service too
  10. A week ago- I did 2 of them! Whens the last time you cooked eggs?
  11. Raw meat shouldnt make a dog do that- that is another problem altogether. All our dogs on the farm were fed raw meat and werent stock killers. Most of the farmers I know feed raw meat to their dogs, if there was any basis to this most dogs wouldnt be fed raw meat.

Too true- I had a pair in the other day and had the dirts with them as they werent showing anything, BUT I only had them in for 3-4 days lol. I think I had been spoilt by the last few down they were right within a week, its times like this you must step back and say to yourself- be realistic!! I think it's because I havent got much time left until the heat kicks in and not enough boxes and some good birds I'd like to get something out of or else I will have to wait until next April. If its a pair you think will be good together patience is usually the key. (and the truth in your case it was only 3-4 weeks. I have had pairs go longer
  13. I have a large bag of biccies in the shed they have free range to- then they get fresh roo necks/meat/bones, camel and various other meats we get at the box that week that I wont mention! Plus my ferrets and dogs get alot of whole rabbits that I get. (whole=whole, nothing done to it) Always read the ingredients list on the biccies- had a look at a new brand today and there was about 6 cereals listed before they got to the meat by-product (meat meal- meat being whatever animal they have at the time.) Plus having 4 large dogs in the backyard you can tell which biscuits are shite by the amount of it they deposit. Cheap biccies = busy me!! and a substantial odour which you dont get on a proper diet. Dogs do eat an amount of plant matter in the wild in seeds, berries and grasses so to have grains/cereals added isnt too bad but its not something a cat does. Cheers Lib- be interested to have a read of those links tomorrow
  14. YOur way up there on me!! (and Ive been here longer lol)
  15. Id probably have taken her also- he will do well, older already tame and exactly how she is going to be- no surprises! Ive almost talked myself into getting another dragon I just dont really have room to set up another cage in our loungeroom (and like I dont have enough critters in my house to look after already lol) Might just stick with the snakes they need alot less looking after than the dragons (Are they getting enough calcium?)
  16. All that Tcb is lacking is large spots which make him lack that eyegrabbing thing that show birds have, if you overlook the spots he is not too bad for a clearbody- or at least a good starting point if you like that type. I wouldnt say his mask was long but it isnt bad- a bit pinched in around the face but not too bad. The others look alot better as they are opalines- so more feather bigger spots, opalines always look good- even the crappier ones!! If I was planning on playing around with clearbodies for a while Id give him a go. Number 3 isnt too bad but he looks like a penguin on the perch Id have a look at a breeders stock before I rushed out and got him.

aaayyyyy- where ya been? Nearly forgot about you. I'm not on facebook yet although everyone says I should join- I;m trying to avoid people I went to school with
  18. dry as a dead dingoes donga- I need a beer!!! or as in paddocks havent seen water in a long time. I use heaps but right now I'm buggered if I can think of any- maybe because they are such an everyday thing Uterus- ute/(pickup) Cutting someones grass- usually trying to take someones woman
  19. Just a nice body moisturiser- doesnt have to be expensive but its nice to have to put on after a shower when you get home. A book? as she'll be spending a bit of time resting for the first few weeks. Think you need to add some more lollies haha I'm a sweet tooth!! Does she print her own photos? Maybe a pack of photo paper for the new arrival- I use 'canon photo paper plus glossy' if its any help- the colours come out better on that one, and an album? mmm thats it for now- its amazing how much baby stuff you get that never gets used.
  20. Good luck. As said in the linebreeding topic pinned in Breeders chat this is how I bred a brilliant line of working ferrets I have also seen some good working dogs bred this way (mine included). A good way to fix your line/traits if done with the right family
  21. haha Elly I wrote that then thought ..what would I know and didnt post it!! Obviously my computer kept it and posted it later on oops! I was going to say not a full colour greywing as the colours are very dull.
  22. 'English', 'show', 'exhibition' are all names for the bigger buffier birds- they do throw smaller birds sometimes but show breeders sell these off as they are no good for the show bench or to breed from. I like to call them english or exhibition birds but it confuses some people. Show birds are originally from english stock and thats why the name- english. Those pet type were small though- more bush size.
  23. Just the markings on the wings- you have some clear patches on the black, and I thought recessive not dominant because there is a black patch on the tip of one. I could be wrong though it is early.
