  1. Whats with those uniforms- are they taking us back to our convict past? Coukd they not have used a bit of imagination and designed something a little classy- or at least sporty?? I cringe whenever I see them arrive on the plane... its embarassing and Im not even wearing them.
  2. Good luck- all of mine stopped at 5 last round
  3. Still have 'allnighters' but now its cos the boy wont sleep.! Caught myself licking a tissue and wiping his face the other day...... nnnooooooooooo LOL
  4. and you can drink what you dont use. Win-win for both!!
  5. No pics but they will soon follow! Its a yellowface Albino- an albino bird withe the added colour of yellowface type 2 so the yellow colour bleeds across the white turning the bird a creamy colour as opposed to a lutino- bright yellow with red eyes
  6. is it just me or does the pied look yf2 mauve?
  7. If she gets off at all- to eat or whatever they tend to roll them as they tuck them back under their bodies. Dont stress big chance you'll never see them do it
  8. Thats a pretty flash palmfrond house Norm- can I have one too? Bugger cleaning all those flash mansions- with this the sand is SUPPOSED to be on the floor LOL Aviary out the back; roodogs running around wander out for a swim and a fish can see me going feral in no time (sshhh KAz )
  9. I thought that too. The yellow hen looks df too? Id put the sky opaline male at the top with your yf grey hen Grey spangle over cin green hen Cin grey cock over df spangle hen. violet male to white (df?) pied hen
  10. Lol- your place for lunch then? Norm sounds like my ideal home or a neat little shack out the bush somewhere.
  11. yep it is a pretty dominant colour in show birds!!
  12. Cheers NOrm- late night last night!! I was guessing with the added grey it might work slightly different. The percentages thing I understand well as it took about 4 clutches from a d.pied/normal (both greens) pairing to get a pied bird- and a blue one at that!! Then they were throwing them in all clutches at a ratio of 3:2 The young are looking well so far so I may let them go for round 2 and hopefully they keep improving through the moult.
  13. How do you guys find the greygreen(GG) works? I know its a colour but do you find/or is it more dominant? In my nest atm from a GG/ light green pair I have 4 GG chicks (coming along nicely I may add ) Now I was hoping for some light greens but no luck. So it just got me thinking- not much else to do at this time of the morning! Maybe the lack of sleep and a hungry little person has affected my brain and somewhere deep down in there somewhere I do know the answer but its not coming to me now!!
  14. I had a couple of chicks similar to that all went well til about 3 weeks then one started getting wonky and laying over heaps mum slowly stopped feeding. Thought it may have been rickets at first; 2nd one started getting a bit wonky too but the first one was nearly dead by then. Brought both inside and raised them with extra vitamins in their formula both living happily although slightly stunted in the aviary now. Just be prepared for it to not pull through
  15. It'll be a hilarious night if they been on the wine all day!!
  16. Cheers Daz- youve done well. This place has been great

Heres my guys; about 18 months now. They were about an inch long when we got them- they replaced my old Oscar when I had to put him down Had him for 8 years. (brown stuff is the bubbles floating up- not really brown though?) And the new addition to the family- guess they reckon if I could have one they could too! Alas only 1 as when I was moving the eggs/rocks I turned my back and the parents got stuck into them when they were uncovered

  20. Lol the secret to restaurants is stuff their little bellys full just before you go and they generally sleep the whole time and make sure you have a bottle full with you incase- makes it easier than trying to feed them at the table or ducking off to do it. This little fellas been everywhere already!!
