OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! I wanna give them all a big huge hug!!! I love the tigers!!!! and and cute toucan too. :offtopic:
  2. Just checking. :offtopic: and if he's a male, which I'm hoping not, that would means that he has some sort of cancer? which would make a male cere turn brown. but I'm sure it's a female. Edit... after reading your edited post.. that would mean that Elly's right. she's double factor dom pied.
  3. Sco-tie... Claire looks like an out of condition female to me.
  4. awww. Sunny is looking as gorgeous as ever!! glad to hear that he's finally home. Hope that Sunny and Bobby will work things out for themselves.
  5. she's a YF2 recessive recessive pied... umm are you sure she's she?? hehehe. likes pinkish purplish to me.. And if you cross with the greywing. assuming that both birds aren't hiding any genes.. you'll get normal yellowface and whiteface skyblue or cobalt normal.... I think.. :offtopic:
  6. I agree with Bea as well, the bird doesn't have opaline gene. You need blue running through the back/wing to be opaline, not yellow, that is only the YF gene.

haha, yeah I'm like that too.. I now stock up on a whole lot of vegs that I didn't before all because of my birds. They are great like that too.
  8. sugar isn't toxic to birds, but just like human, too much of it is not good. I don't give my birds sugar, but sometimes they may get a little bit of sugar from my food that they steal off me.
  9. How did you determine daddy is the df yf? Just catching up here Well Shiloh have had a baby with Lucifer, and it is not a yellowface. I'm assuming that Lucifer isn't a DF yellowface. if she was a yellowface, all her chicks would be visually YF.
  10. Oh lovey, you crack me up!! My chrismas stocking is soooo filled!!!
  11. oh okay, well in that case, the daddy is the DF yellowface. :hap: that's really cool. :hap:
  12. this is where I I say... I hate genetics!!! Grrr. getting headaches just thinking about it... Let me get this straight... to get yellowface babies at least one of the parents has to be yellowface, whether it's single factor or double factor correct? so this is then to assume that since both parents are white base birds, it's safe to say that because there's a yellowface baby one of the parents would have to be double factor yellowface correct? Now here's where I got confused... I thought that if one of the parents are double factor yellowface, that would mean that all baby would be single factor factor.... Sooooo therefore since yellowface genes are dominant over normal white base blue, would that means that ALL baby should turn out yellowface?? or am I completely off the track with the double factor gene. I thought that if you breed a double factor bird to a normal bird, you'd get a single factor visual bird. such as the case with dom pied, spangles and yellowface. Obviously both parents can't be double factor in Shiloh and Rocket's case since there's a visual yellowface baby showing. Sooo any thought on how off track I am? Edit... after re-reading the post again about the babies, I'm hoping that all the babies will colour up yellowface. if that is the case, then of course it makes sense.. although it can still be both birds unless if Shiloh had previous clutch and have had yellowfaces as well.
  13. I agree with Bubbles. left female and right male
  14. oh wow, I love those babies.
  15. Sooooo if there's a yellowface baby, that must mean that Dad's a carrier for a yellowface and blue gene then huh? is that correct? I need to look that up... Can yellow base birds be a yellowface carrier I wonder.
  16. awww, what cute pics!! I do love that one of Merlin too.. (Laughing out loud)..
  17. I see my christmas stocking stuffing there!! Interesting that you have a blue boy.. that would mean that the daddy is split for blue then. and it seems that both parents are split to yellowface too. or is that just daddy? Umm hmm can't remember is Yellowface blue dominant or recessive over white face blue? anyone?

  19. I have had one for a while now in my aviary, and the budgies love it!! but now it's a bit chewed up, and it doesn't sit opened up like that anymore.. it just kinda collapse into one long ladder like perch.. hehehehe.. but they still love it. :offtopic:

  23. I originally thought greywings as well, then I change my mind. thought the wings were just too 'clear' to be a greywings. it's all good.
  24. I think the first one is an opaline clearwing skyblue. could be dilute, but have to look at the front... check out those blue on the 'shoulder'... check out the bar though, it's still the same intensity as the others on the wing.. but man that blue patch looks kinda funky!! and the second one, I'm with lovey. a recessive pied skyblue and what beautiful babies too!!
  25. Oh feathers, you should see her set up!! I want to move there... hehehehe.. I gotta go visit those little bubs soon!! Those yellow bubs... So Lovey when are you planning on taking your next OVERSEA vacation?!?!?!?!? hehehehe
