  4. holly is a little angel. :ausb:
  5. Awwww what gorgeous babies!! :bluebudgie:
  6. Thanks Phoebe. Yes, next time Goofy will get his own private lettuce session, but only problem is, he'll go whever his girl Lemon is.. so I might have trouble with that.. hehehe.. Oh my cockatoo, he's so active and chatty during the day. it's constant talking all day long!! (Laughing out loud)
  7. gorgeous birds. :grbud:
  8. I'm thinking that both dom pied are males. The first dom pied, I think it's a mauve instead of a grey. The cheek patch looks rather blue. and yes there's sucha thing as yellowface grey, but I think your one is a mauve yellowface. the last dom pied could be a yellowfce but like you said its not very clear on the pics. :grbud: the first one, I agree with you. What gorgeous birdies!!! :ausb:
  9. thanks ladies. Glad you gals liked it. Lemon is my little fatty.. well was, she was up at 58g, but now shes back down to around 40, which is what she should be. She was also plucked when she was a baby by her mommy, the feathers never grew back on her wings very well unfortunately, but I think she's the best looking one around.. hehehe. Oh lovey, When my cockatoo says hello, it tend to sound more like helloy. PRobably why it sounded like Good boy.. hehe
  10. Thanks Nerwen, though I do realised that. It's just that it can get a bit confusing when newbies to budgies genetics gets different terms for one mutation. I remember when I first started learning about budgies genetics, I would wonder about the pieds especially when people would use the term danish pied or harlequin pied. I just dont use those terms it's all when I describe the mutations... but I did agree with her in my other post.
  11. I was giving Lemon some green veg the other day on my hand when Goofy decided to come and join her there to have a bit of munchies. this is nice since Goofy hardly ever fly to me unless his girl Lemon is on me. Anyway, Lemon thought that wet leaves would make a good bath/shower area, so she was off... and I got hubby to film it on the digital camera. she was so funny trying to flip around and do the bathing thing on what little bit of water was left on the leaves. Here's the link to it. I hope you like. Edit... Oh I forgot to mention that, if you listen really really hard and turn your volume up a little bit more, in the back ground you can hear my cockatoo saying 'hello' before he let out a string of 'I'm here' squawks...'
  12. here's my thought.. Beau is not a greywings, he's wing marking is way too dark. and the spot could be just a spangle spot that some spangles get, but it could verwell be a pied spot. I agree with Dakota I think Keely is a cobalt (medium blue) recessive pied, not mauve (Dark blue). I don't think she's violet as the cheek patch isn't very dark at all. I see uneven aqua on tealah, so so could be a yellowface or goldenface blue. And Zanthie, yes I agree, though I never use the term danish... I would just call them light green recessive pied. Cheers
  13. I agree with Nyos, i see aqua blue and green on the bird. looks like a yf2 to me too.

    Aww, I'm so sorry Kelly.. it is so heart wrenching when things like that happens. :budgiedance: {{{hugs}}}
  15. yes the very edge of the feathers are yellow, that's how spangles are. i'm not at home, so i can't take a picture of my spangles close up to show you. Basically the black (in this case green because of the opaline gene) lines are actually a couple of millimeter of the edge of the feathers, still giving you a yellow/white edge (pending on white or yellow bird) And the bird also have a spangle tails. two clear tails in the middle. :ausb:
  16. wow, looking good there. looks so different too!! i need to come over and check it out. and may be hide a baby or two in my hair.. i think i hear Calico calling for me... :ausb: hehehe
  17. Awww, what cutie pies. i love the pics!!! That baby 1 definitely reminds me of my Daffy when she was a baby. :ausb:
  18. Aww, baby one looks like my (vicious) Daffy. :ausb: except your baby looks very innocent. i know Daffy is a shedevil!! (Laughing out loud)
  19. the reason I ask for under the wing is because one of my girl starts off fairly blue (YF2) but now she's green as, and the only place that you can tell that she's a blue series is a tiny bit of blue patches under her wings. It seems they didn't change.
  20. Wow, poor little darling. I didn't think that if a whole beak broke off that they'd grow back. Well either way, he's lucky to be with you.
  21. he's a spangle opaline.. I am thinking YF2, not light green, but better picture of his rump without the flash and also under his wings might help with that.
  22. awww, look at Dunstan. he's s cutie pie. And glad to see Stage 3 is on the way.. and way to go Ken.
  23. aww, look at the boy. glad to hear that he's with a good mommy now. Any idea why the beak grows so quickly and so long as well?
  24. Aww, they both look great. Sorry to hear though there's only one surviving baby left of honey and luigi. :offtopic:
