My three cockatiel chicks are 3 weeks old and all seem to have very dark feathers. I thought I would get lutinos like their dad or silvery colour like their mother? Just wondering if all chicks are dark when they are young and it will moult out ??

I have fallen hopelessly in love with this little guy and I'm keeping him!!!! He is very quiet already and he's only 4 weeks old! While I am typing this he has made himself very comfortable on my lap curled up in my dressing gown! Any suggestions for a name?

As it looks like I'm going to be adopting a cockatiel very soon (give or take a couple of weeks because of my childrens very short-lived promises of caring for it) and also a budgie (I have become very attached to one of my babies ) I will be keeping them inside and will no doubt have seed husks scattered everywhere. Especially on dark carpet I am vacuuming every 5 minutes! Anyone got any ideas on how to keep the husks inside the cage and not all over the place? Please give me some ideas as I dont think my partner is all that keen on them being inside!

:hap: Their swaying and hissing is very intimidating! But hopefully they'll stop soon once they realise I'm not going to hurt them. I just hope they grow some feathers real soon!

My three baby cockatiels have captured my heart! At only 2 and a half weeks old, and not that good looking just yet, I have become very attached to them already! I have only been handrearing them for 48 hours and I have fallen totally in love with them. I often sit with them and just watch them while they all huddle together in their toasty warm brooder. I peek in and they are just so cute! My son wants to keep one (he wont touch them till they grow some feathers as they freak him out just now!) my partners granddaughter wants one and a friend is taking one. So they have homes already! At least I'll still have one to keep, Matthew,my son, promises he will look after it, just like he did with the rabbits, the goldfish, the chooks,the kitten, etc etc etc. I'm sure some of you have been there, and done that. After a week you are the one stuck looking after them.

Thanks Elly - I am feeling a bit better today but she never leaves my mind and heart. I love to sit in her lounge chair that she always used to lie when we let her inside of a night. There are so many reminders of her, while it breaks my heart it's comforting as well - she will live on in our hearts forever.

As most of you know I lost my beloved dog Jemma last week. I just felt the need to express how I feel, sorry you're probably getting tired of me talking about her. But I miss her terribly. Today we got the most beautiful card from the vet surgery. I had given them a box of chocolates and a thankyou card with Jemm's photo inside it for all that they did for her.I know she's in a better place and free of pain but it hurts so much knowing I cant kiss and cuddle her anymore. Jemm- if you're up there in doggy heaven, I miss you sweetheart and always will :angel1: :angel1: :angel1:

They have just had their first feed from the spoon and took to it straight away! They are all cuddled up together in their cosy little brooder with nice clean shavings and they look as snug as a bug in a rug. I'm in love!! :sad:

I have brought my babies inside to start handrearing today, look how much they've grown!! They are only 15 days old!!

No I wouldnt squeeze it to make its cere blue, I'd just paint it blue!!
