Anyone Remember Hush?
I know I'm showing my age here but does anyone here remember the 70's band named Hush?? I was and still am their No 1 fan. One of the guitarists from that band (Rick Lum) has formed a band named The One Eyed Cats (they play 50's and 60's rock'n'roll) They are performing on a lunch time Harbour Cruise on the 29th November and I'm going!!!!!! I missed their first gig as that was the same weekend I went away with my sister. I cannot wait!!!! Rick is a lovely person and sends me frequent emails about his band etc. I met him in person last year at his Sydney home and he even gave my son Matthew a guitar lesson! (He's still cute as ever!)

Colour Suggestions Anyone?
Ever since we bought our house I have wanted to paint our balcony as it has only ever had pink primer on it. The bricks are a blondy colour and we have black trimming around our windows and black fencing around the balcony. I cant for the life of me pick a nice colour to paint the timber on the balcony, any ideas anyone? I was thinking maybe a terracotta colour as our roof tiles are that colour as well as the edging on our driveway, what do you think??

The Handrearing Begins!
Hi everyone, so sorry I havent been on for a while! I have been flat out between working, handrearing all my babies, and looking after my kids (and my partner)!! They have all doubled in size (the chicks that is) and are growing before my eyes!! I brought my Major Mitchell up to handrear yesterday and he is going very well so far! To top it all off a friend at work asked me if I would put her duck and chicken eggs in my incubator for her, so I am trying to keep them all at the right temp and humidity and turn them 3 times a day as well, so if you dont see me around for a while you'll know what I'm doing!!

I Am Ecstatic Yet Devastated
Thanks Liv. I feel very guilty having not checked the chicks EVERY day. Being pre-occupied or tired just doesnt cut it, I have learnt one thing out of this and thats to check them without fail evey day.

I Am Ecstatic Yet Devastated
I got some wonderful news today. That was that Matthews CAT scan didnt reveal anything sinister in fact the doctor said it was "perfectly normal" and I am over the moon. I have probably been a bit slack and hadnt checked on my Princess chicks for 2 or 3 days due to the stress of all the worry about Matt. Well I opened the peep hole in their nest box to find that every single chick was dead. I have a feeling that because the parents want to breed again they have let their chicks starve. Today has been a day of elation and also one of devastation.

I Am So Scared
I have great news, the results came back this afternoon and Matt's scan was "perfectly normal " !! all for your prayers and best wishes, I know they helped!!

Breeding in Ken's Aviary
I have just gone out to check on my Princess chicks as I hadnt done so as I have been pre-occupied with doctors visits etc with my son and was devastated to find they were all dead. I am so mad with myself as I should have checked them daily. Why do the parents do this? The poor poor babies, I am presuming they starved to death.

I Am So Scared
Ever since the school holidays my 13 year old son has been getting headaches which can last all day or half a day. They vary in strength, some days are worse than others. I have taken him to the doctor who said to try him on a stronger than usual dose of Panadol, (which didnt ease them at all anyway) I took him to get his eyes tested as he used to wear glasses when he was little to strengthen his left eye. Actually I took him to 2 different optometrists - one said he needs glasses, the other said he doesnt and his vision is excellent. He went back to the doctors yesterday afternoon (to a different doctor) who organised at CAT scan of his head. He went for that this morning and wont get the results for a few days. As my sister had a brain tumour I am petrified Matthew will have one too. I need you all to pray for him please! Hopefully it wont reveal anything nasty but I am so scared it will

Major Mitchell Chick On Its Way!

The Handrearing Begins!
The older version give off the most heat - I certainly hope they will still be available, if not, I better stock up on them!
-
The Handrearing Begins!
Handrearing is awesome Liv, once you get the hang of it it lots of fun! I'm going to change that lightbulb as it doesnt give off enough heat and will use the normal ones.

The Handrearing Begins!
Yes Neat, if you get them out of the nest just when their eyes first open they dont have the chance to bond with their parents and so they think I am! (There's a method in my madness!) Yes there are 2 lutinos, 1 white face, and a normal (I think!) Here are my Princesses that I will be rearing also.....

The Handrearing Begins!
I have two brooders Deb, so I can put the princesses in one and the cockatiels in the other. But before I do I will try them all in the one - I dont anticipate any problems with them as they are both non-aggressive parrots.

Major Mitchell Chick On Its Way!
I have seen them elsewhere selling for $650 upwards but I only charge $550 (or less if they are friends of mine!)
