  2. I cant contain my excitement MB! My son and I sat up till midnight the other night thinking she would have them, but she tricked us! I cant wait!!!
  3. :happy-dancing: :happy-dancing: Bella has milk which means the pups are only days away!!! I caught her digging at her bedding as well which is another good sign!! Will keep you posted!! :happy-dancing: :happy-dancing:
  4. Sunnie, the scarlet chested grass parrot chick looks very thin! Are you relying on the budgie parents to feed it? What has happened to its parents??
  5. Yea Maesie it is. I am trying to focus on my cocker spaniels and all those puppies that are due any day!! :dog: :dog:
  6. To all my wonderful and supportive friends I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. I have met a couple of you in person which was fantastic, and hopefully I will get to meet some more next year! All the best everyone for the festive season!! PS If you are travelling over the Christmas and New year break, please please take care on the road.
  7. Yes MB, I will definately be getting lots of updates!! Maesie I have never seen anyone so happy and thrilled about something as this guy is - its amazing!
  8. I dont know why I keep doing this to my myself - I sold my Major Mitchell that I've been handrearing for the last 2 months. One consolation is that I have made the new owner "on top of the world"!! He had ordered one from another breeder but it had died, so he is deleriously ecstatic now ! I rang him tonight and he said and I quote " You have made me the happiest person in the world, I love you!" All I know is the house is empty without my little mate.
  9. She is almost bursting at the seams Maesie!! Especially after she's eaten! Surely she cant get much bigger! I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof lately - I dont like leaving her for any length of time just in case she goes into labour.......
  10. Awww, poor Bella. Here she is almost exploding, and you're making fun of her boobies! :tut_tut: Shame on you!!
  11. Well here's the photo of Bella's very pregnant belly! Poor thing is feeling the heat but the majority of the time she is in our nice cool garage and goes in and out the doggy door as she wishes.
  12. Sure have MB!! I have bought Bella and the pups a nice big heated woollen mattress, and I have all the supplies ready just in case they're needed!! Why is it that pups are always born at night ?? :budgiedance:
  13. Well it's only a matter of about 18 - 20 days and the pups will be here! I gave Bella a bath today and she just loved it. She especially likes it when I blow dry her. She just lies down and goes to sleep !! I will take some pics of her huge belly tomorrow!
  14. Awwww, that's so cute! I'm so happy your son has this puppy! Sounds like they're going to be great mates!! I actually dreampt last night that your puppy whined all night! So glad it didnt come true!!
  15. Waiting for pics ..........
  16. Hi Deb, I cant wait to see some pics!! They are my 2nd favourite dog, cockers being No 1 !!!!
  17. I have made the heart-breaking decision and they are now in Parrot Heaven :angel1: I have agonised over it ever since I discovered their predicament. After speaking with the avian vet who has come across this before he didnt give them any hope of being able to feed themselves once they were weaned. I wanted to "wait and see" as I thought there might have been a tiny chance they would grow their beaks back but the chances of that were zero apparently.
  18. Here are some photos of them today
  19. Well I have persevered with the two Princesses but it doesnt seem like their beaks are going to ever grow. I have spoken to an avian vet and he said they most likely never be able to eat on their own. I dont want to think of what needs to be done but I have no other choice. :star:
  20. Monty and Bella are so much in love! :hap: We let them inside for an hour each night and Monty just dotes on Bella. He gives her kisses (licks her mouth) and just never leaves her alone. Bella just loves being brushed. She sat with me for the whole time just letting me brush her, she is so adorable.
  21. You are both very good looking!!
  22. Aww, come on thk, live dangerously!! Once you see their gorgeous, gorgeous little faces you will fall in love instantly They dont make much mess and come toilet trained, and only bark once in a while! (I make a terrible liar ) :bluebudgie: :sadsorry:
  23. Thanks Elly, I have always loved cocker spaniels ever since I was little but wasnt allowed to get a dog. Mum and Dad finally relented and bought one (supposedly a pure bred) but when we picked it up from the railway station (way back then that was the easiest way to get anything delivered as we lived way way out in the bush) it was a mixture of lots of different breeds. But it didnt matter I still loved her anyway.
  24. We have had a bit of rain lately so that explains why its so green. I seize the opportunity when it does rain and sprinkle fertilizer on the lawn to give it that boost. You might notice in Monty's photo we have a piece of reinforcing used for concreting on the grass. Thats to stop the dogs from digging up parts of the lawn that we've already fixed up where they have dug huge holes.
  25. 'Fraid not Kaz, I'm not allowed to taked holidays in December where I work and she's due early January. There's no way I'm going anywhere!! Have you got a tent and a barbecue ? Could always camp on the lawn and pretend you are on holiday
