Thanks Deb, I hope it all goes well too, you know I havent even gone yet and I want to come home already!! :sad: I am a real "homebody" and just love pottering around outside being among my feathered and furry friends!!

Some of you might know that I am going away for a week with my sister and 2 of her friends for 5 days. I was and still am looking forward to it, but I have some cockatiel and Princess parrot eggs due to hatch while I'm away and I would have liked to have been here. While there shouldnt be any problems I still like to check on them regularly. My partner is going to feed them etc while I'm gone but it's not the same as if I was here. At least I will have something to look forward to when I get home! The following week I should have baby Major Mitchells so the handrearing will begin about 3 weeks later!

I have been treating one of my hens for scaley face (mainly around her beak) but I noticed today she also has it around her eyes. I'm too scared to put the treatment anywhere near her eyes so how do I treat them?

Matthew is almost 14 and he is the sweetest boy. Im not just saying that because he's my son, but whenever I'm upset about something he'll come and sit next to me, put his arm around me and tries to cheer me up. He is very considerate, well-mannered (holds the shop door open for the elderly of his own accord). His teacher told the class that" he wished they were all like Matthew" I must've done something right in raising this boy!!

When I'm at work (checkout operator at Big W and hate it) and I see all these people buying huge bags of dry kibble especially the cheap and nasty ones and the tins of P#@ and C@#m) I get so damn angry I feel like telling them its no good for their dogs but I have to bite my tongue

A very interesting read Libby. I totally agree with them. It wasnt until I bought my two pups last December that I googled "dry dog food" and discovered to my horror that it has virtually no goodness in it whatsoever. I make sure my pups eat chicken, dog mince (with no preservaties - from the local butcher) vegies etc and not much commercial dog food at all!

Well I did intend making a bed for Buddy myself, but as usual I never had time and so bought this one off Ebay. I havent hung it in his cage yet - I have some re-organising to do!!

Sounds exactly like my life too. Parents have never told me they love me, I know they do, but have never said it. I tell my kids all the time and my hubby and i say it all the time too. I have always wondered why they cant say it? I have spoken to my sister about it and how it saddens me and she said that their parents probably never told them that they loved them and it has been sadly passed on to the next generation not to express your feelings.

There was no driver!! I totally agree Liv. I tell my children every single day many times that I love them. I have never in my 47 years heard the words "I love you" from my father and only two or three times has my mother told me. I know they do love me, but just cant say it for some reason! I have always vowed that if I ever had children that I would tell them, and I do. They probably get sick of hearing it! My partner and I also tell each other 20 million times a day how we feel about each other, I never get sick of hearing it!!

It sure shook me up! The boys werent all that worried, Matt just wanted to be the first one to tell the policeman all about it!

Today my son was over at his best friends place (being the big softie I am I let him have the day off school seeing it was the last day before holidays). Anyway they both have scooters and had been out and about the streets riding. They had only just gone inside to play the Playstation when they heard a big crash outside. They raced out to find a driverless 4WD had crashed into a tree in his friends front yard! We dont know what caused it to roll but thank God the boys had gone inside otherwise I dread to think what might have happened.

I agree Neat, I've had two c.sections and the best present I could have had would have been someone to cook,clean, hang laundry out (which they tell you not to do for 6 weeks ?? (as if). Things like that because you cant even stand up straight for a few weeks let alone do all the usual household jobs!!

At times like this Maesie there are just no words that can ease your pain and I'm at a loss as to what I can do to make you feel a little bit better. Just know that we are all here for you. So dont hesitate to ring or PM me any time of the day or night. I just wish I could be there for you to give you a hug. Life can be very cruel as I have found out recently as well but take comfort in the fact that your grandfather and your cat are in a better place and although you are missing them both terribly, they are resting in peace.Take good care of yourself Maesie and please pass on my condolences to your family for me.
